Real Name: Silmaril

Code Name: Aliases are for cowards!

Age: Eternal (looks about 27)

Race: Valkyrie

Secret Identity: *see Code Name*

Power Level: 11

Appearance: A strikingly beautiful silver haired woman, but easily identifiable as a warrior, she bears a pair of wings that sprout from her back and has only recently begun to hide them for convenience's sake. Her blue eyes can stare down lesser souls with ease, and her bearing seems to demand a combination of respect, envy, and resentment.

Powers: Her wings are magical in nature, allowing her to fly with relative ease. She also can control the air around her, creating anything from protective barriers to powerful blasts of compacted air, using this often as a way to enhance her own mobility while airborne. In order to ease her transition to the Modern World, Odin also granted her the ability to speak and understand nearly any earthly language she hears.

She is well versed in melee combat, prefering honorable battle to sneak attacks or subterfuge, and carries with her the sword Balmung. Reforged from the broken sword Gram that was used to kill the evil Dragon Fafnir in ancient times, it is a gift to her from Odin. Its true power still sleeps within, and she believes it is her task to destroy evil with it in order to regain its former radience. The fact that killing is apparently looked down upon now has her frustrated to say the least. In combat, or even in a stressful situation, she can seemingly draw in her unswerving faith on Odin to push herself beyond what she is normally capable of, even if the rebound can be painful at times.

Weaknesses: Aside from her flight capability requiring her wing to be free and her unarmed fighting being significantly less deadly than with a weapon, she's fairly well rounded as far as powers go. She won't win any contests of brute force, speed, or magical ability, but she doesn't really have any glaring weaknesses.

Unless you count her almost complete inability to understand modern culture and norms. It seems her translator didn't account for slang, and this whole concept of killing ones enemies being a BAD thing just throws her completely. She was simply HORRIFIED to discover that no one really worships Odin on purpose anymore, and most of his power comes from inadvertant worship in the form of Norse rituals incorporated into Christianity and Druidism.

The cushy lifestyle of modern times also gets her in a tizzy as well, considering life and death on the field of battle in the name of kith, kin, and diety to be the highest calling for anyone. She respects those with Powers far more than the "normals", but anyone with a real warriors mentality has a far less chance of earning her disapproval.

Background: She doesn't remember a time before Odin. Whether she was once human, created by him, or had existed beside him for all time, she doesn't know or care. She does his bidding as an emisarry to earth, taking on tasks as best she is able and destroying Evil, especially the agents of Loki.

Her last mission was nearly 1000 years ago, and her memories from that time still govern her actions to an extent. Her reactions to modern life are a primary example. The Norse were the first to record her and her sisters acts on paper, her slaying of the last Giant earning her a long rest in Vallhalla.

She was sent to Freedom City to watch over and learn from David. Odin has not yet told her from what he needs protecting, but she assumes it has to do with that DEVIL WOMAN Elena. She tries her best to separate the two, seeing it as her duty to prevent him being corrupted any further. It helps that she finds him attractive, and has slept with him on more than one occasion. Elena's attempts to seduce her have been firmly and sometimes violently rebuffed. The furry menace will not escape her wrath forever.

Motivation: What Odin says, she does. She is not a blind servant, just a fanatically devoted one. He gives her leeway to do as she sees fit, so long as his edicts are carried through. She and David have a pact of sorts, which allows her to compete with Elena's control over him. She uses it to "encourage" him to do good, often involving the smiting of Evil Doers. The reawakening of Balmung is also foremost in her mind, often seeing the two tasks as coinciding.

Personality: If you could pick on word to describe her, you'd have to turn to the Japanese and their ability to make words for just about everything. There, you'd find Tsundere. She'll beat you half to death for a slight only to realize she's not supposed to do that anymore, then tend to the wounds she just inflicted on you. Most common when around David, she treats his apathy towards "Superheroing" with contempt and uses their pact to get him to do it anyway, only to pick him as her nighttime partner, then punch him when he's not up at the crack of dawn to start it all over again.
