It was not the most exhilarating job but it was hers. And Alexandra Mira daughter of Fres Mira, recent Rasak graduate, loyal guard to the crown and the royals, was happy to do guard duty. At days it was mostly just sitting at her post and making sure noone unauthorized passed a certain point. It did give her plenty of time to work on some of her drawings. Eventho with a candle or latern as light source it was not perfect. But she made due.

Alex did her round through the dungeon checking on the cells. Making sure noone had died, noone set their mattres on fire. Apparently that was a thing to worry about. And it would be a horrible way to go. So yeah checking up on the prisoners.

To some Alex got to talking. If it was allowed of course. Just the weather recent non important events and such things.

Alexandra was not in any position that she guarded the big guys they had in here. There was said that a part of the Dungeon where the absolute dangerous were held wasn't even accessible to all. If that is the case there is good reason for it and no reason for Alexandra to go after such a thing.

Following orders and being dutiful made her happy and if she would one day work herself up she might learn of more secrets.

It was a day as usual when Alexandra got the order to guard a between post on the stairs. Quite low on the stairs. No clue where it was for but it seemed due to other events the older Elites were needed at the event, amd it was said that if anyone would have reached her level of the stairs all was lost anyway.

Alexandra nodded and took her place at the little alcove. There were more like these along the hig spiral staircase down but the lower you got the darker it became.

With a dissapointed sigh Alexandra took her position as she realizes it was to dark to draw. Hours passed. Sometimes you could hear some distant sounds from upstairs... which would only proof how loud the event and party was upstairs.

After the hours watching and guarding noone had even been remotely close to her. So with the confidense that none could hear her, Alexandra started to tap a rythm on the table soft humming along. Now and then checking if no reaction came she then sang a bit louder, going through a repertoire pf lullabies, shanties and ballads. She had hours to go still and noone around.

At a point Alexandra could swear she heard another voice. But seeing the staircase and the empty alcoves and such Alexandra quickly convinced herself that it was just the echos.

Her duty was almost done the party upstairs had gone quiet. From above she could hear people coming down the staircase. Straightening herself and fixing her uniform she stood to bring out report. Just before the next guard shift had arrived a soft voice from a little crack or grate in the wall came to her ears.

"Thank you for the songs."

Alexandra was shocked, surprised but knew to fix her expression before bringing out report.
