Description:

The goddess of the gnomes is Singsong Slingswinger, a charismatic goddess of trade and song who created the gnomes out of dissatisfaction with the stodgy customs of other races. While Singsong is most often associated with her creations, she considers herself primarily a god of song and is somewhat frustrated by the tendency of her worshippers to ignore her artistic achievements are preach endlessly about her role as a creator goddess. Singsong finds organized worship well-intentioned but terribly boring. In fact, devoted clerics of Singsong have learned to pray for aid during the song portion of weekly church gatherings, because their god often stops paying attention during the sermon.

Singsong sees herself more as an ally of the gnomes than a mother or leader; she is uncomfortable with being worshipped without doing anything to deserve it. It is said that the goddess of song visits bazaars, caravans and gnomish celebrations in the guise of a mortal gnome or halfling and performs with only her native ability in an effort to earn real appreciation and forge connections with mortals. She also loves swap meets, where she is known to trade valuable treasures for seemingly worthless trinkets that have passed through the hands of future gnomish heroes. Some claim that Singsong visits less reputable gatherings of gnomes as well, giving a different kind of performance and earning an entirely different kind of appreciation; however, her male clerics are notorious for doing just that, so their reputation may simply have worn off on her.
