Keep On The Borderlands

Acts as a Staff +1; +1 on to-hit rolls and +1 damage for 1d6+1 total damage. Upon command it will turn into a snake and coil around a creature. The command may be spoken when a creature is hit. Any victim man-sized or smaller will be held for 1d4 Turns, unless the snake is ordered to release them. Larger creatures are unaffected by the snake. Victims are allowed a save vs. staves to avoid the serpent's coils.

When freed, the snake will crawl back to its owner and become a staff again. It is completely healed when it turns into a staff. If killed in snake form, it will not turn back into a staff and will lose all magical properties.
