    1. Session Begins ##

Brian: boobsi> Brian: boobs Brian: sorry, testing italics Brian: As part of receiving your warrent of trade, one of the requirements is that you must perform your activites outside of Imperial Space. Today marks the first full day cycle of your lives that will be spent entirely free of the Emperors control, and his protection. Before you lies the cold blackness of space, behind, an even colder future as life as an Imperial citizen. You wonder for just a second, which fate is the more favorable.

Macharius:

John Goodman Voice:: American runs on Dunkin Donuts.

Nick: ((lol))

Macharius: 30 vesus Int

Macharius: 30 versus Nick's Face

zapp: 56

Macharius: what the fuck?

zapp: Power Sword Damage 12

zapp: Power Sword Damage 13

Pilot Servitor: Captain York, all ships systems functions normal, requesting bearing.

Macharius:

Macharius sees space as neither cold, nor black. It flows with the nuances of plasma and warp, mysterious pathways between planets and stars that he is now able to witness::

zapp: Macharius ... where do ya think we should go and be mighty

Macharius:

uses ship's sensors to detect nearest star system with "Terra-like" planet(s)::

zapp:

action pose::

Pilot Servitor: ((make a search + detection test, basically whoevers search skill with a bonus equal to your ships detection bonus, consult the wiki if you need to))

Macharius:

John Goodman voice:: Hold your Groxices (plural of grox perhaps?), Captain, I am determining a course now.

Macharius: (I don't have search, dude.)

Macharius:

gets a science crewmember to do it::

Macharius: (I don't know what the ship's bonus is.)

Macharius: 87 vs. 40 or so.

Pilot Servitor: (( search is basic, and you can have a crewman roll also))

Sola: hey you! crew dude find me a course we should go! :: points to a crew member::

Pilot Servitor: ((how many degrees of sucess or failure?))

Macharius: ((I don't know what the bonus/penalty is. So you can figure it out!)

Macharius: Captain, please. Let me do my job.

Macharius:

waits for the star scan data to pop up on his navigation holo-screen::

Pilot Servitor: (total detection bonus on your ship is +35))

Macharius: (87 vs 75, then)

Sola:

flexes arms::

Pilot Servitor: A few planets apear on the Augur, but a smal blinking light in the lower right of the console catches your eye. The light indicates a distress call is being received.

Sola: Distress?

Macharius:

plots a course to the blinking light::

Sgt. Harmon: SOS distress call from the Imperial guard transport vessel Menetoth. Our ship has crash landed on a death world on the outskirts of imperial space. Requesting immediate assistance of anyone who hears this. Hurry, we won't last long.

Sola: We shall go there!

Macharius:

hopes its just not an error in the holo-screen projection system. He used to build those when he was younger, and he knows how touchy their alignment matrix can be if the crystals are made using tritium oxide instead of tritium calcide.::

Sola:

hero pose::

Sgt. Harmon: (( the first thing you can do is determine the duration of your passage to your target location , Navigation (Warp) test)

Macharius: Easy, Captain. ::eats a donut while he powers up the warp engine::

Macharius: 64 versus 56 + modifiers

Sola: Right i don't want to exert myself.... there might be ladies there

Sgt. Harmon: ((you approximate the trip will take about 2 hours))

Sgt. Harmon: ((next is to determine the location of the astronomicon to better tell exactly where you are in space, Awareness test (Ordinary +10) )

Malechi Darrius: Uh, Zola. I want to save those men and everything but is there going to be much of a reward in doing it?

Macharius: Why don't you just take one of the female crew members::

Macharius: (Don't have awareness)

Malechi Darrius: ((Sola, not Zola))

Macharius: (Apparently navigators aren't good at navigating or something)

Sgt. Harmon: ((Its basic))

Macharius: 17 vs. 30

Macharius: (It's not even a class skill!)

Sola:

smiles::

Sgt. Harmon: ((1 degree of success gives you +10 on the next test you need to make))

Macharius: (I think it should be Psyniscience!)

Sgt. Harmon: ((I lied, its all navigate tests for this trip))

Sgt. Harmon: (((I think you are right, if you would like to do that instead))

Macharius: (To sense the Astronomicon)

Sola: you know.... whatever they have should be a good reward for saving them

Macharius: (17 vs. 40!)

Macharius: (50 rather)

Macharius: (With the +10)

Sgt. Harmon: ((so +40 to the other tests))

Sgt. Harmon: ((Next step is charting the course to avoid potential warp threats, a ordinary (+10) Perception test for that one))

Macharius: We can salvage their ship. ::he adds, helpfully, between donut bites::

Sola: (( can i do a scholastic lore Astronomy to know anything about location in space??))

Malechi Darrius: And add the crew into the fold! I'm kind of starting to like this plan.

Macharius: 52 versus 100

Sola: HA HA !! i knew ya would

Sgt. Harmon: ((yes nick it's -30 unless you have gear to assist with it)

Sgt. Harmon: ((Erik you detect no warp anomalies))

Sola: (( we have anything on the ship for that?))

Sgt. Harmon: ((lastly erik, is acctually stearing the vessel through the warp, a Navigate (Warp Test)))

Macharius: I believe it is on the edge of imperial space, so they may resist our claim to authority. Especially if they have any of those mindlessly ignorant religious fanatics still alive in their unit.

Sgt. Harmon: ((You could go to the observation dome for a +10__

Macharius:

summons like 10 crew guys to hoist his navigator seat up to the dome::

Sola: MMmmmm.... religious types make me nervous....

Malechi Darrius: They just dont know whs good for them, we'll show them how things work out here.

Sgt. Harmon: ((the +10 is for nick to use his astronamy))

Macharius: (Oh, ok!)

Sgt. Harmon: ((navgate!))

Macharius:

well, then, orders them to hoist his seat to the private "navigation" chamber, and then orders them to leave. As he opens his 3rd Eye and guides the ship intuitively through the warp::

Sola: i'm off to the observation dome.... :: goes::

Macharius: 40 vs. 90

Macharius:

keeps an eye out for recent warp trails as he's traveling::

Sola: Astronomy 86 vs 39+10

Sola: mmmmm.... is this thing even working?

Sola: where do i put the gelt in? Brian: With the expert stellar navigating of the Lord NAvigator, Esailia reaches her target planet in almost no time at all. Deftly avoiding the horrors that usually accompany warp travel you arrive directly above the planet the distress call is origionating from. You even apear to already be in a stable orbit

Macharius: (it was actually 40 vs. 96)

Sola: (( you rock))

Pilot Servitor: Orbit acheived Captain... Message incoming from the planets surface.

Macharius:

over the officer's microbead channel:: We have arrived, Captain. ::orders science crew guys to scan space with the ship's augur, while he himself simply "views" space with his third eye, scanning for plasma trails of ships within the last month::

Sola:

look of interest action pose as awaits info::

Science Crew Guys: Commencing surface scan #Search 44 of 40# Scan complete My Lord

Science Crew Guys: Make that space

Macharius:

as navigator, his interest isn't planets. someone else can worry about that bullshit
:

Macharius:

like maybe the hotshot military guy or something::

Science Crew Guys: ((Perception test to use your power Erik))

Macharius: (+10 bonus for Renegade Bloodline Awesomeness)

Macharius: 2 vs. 60

Sola: lets get this show on the road! .... (exceptional leader +10)

Macharius: (vs. 70)

Macharius: (Thanks NicK!)

Macharius:

he smiles a bit, remembering why he agreed to sign onto Sola's expedition now::

Science Crew Guys:

The lord navigator opens his third eye and almost immediatly detects two warp signatures, on from a small Imperial attack craft just a little too close to the planet below, and one of a large transport vessel, seeming to be almost making random warp jumps, a curious thing indeed::

Macharius: (how long ago)

Malechi Darrius:

Sighs out of boredom:: so when are we going down to that planet, theymight be dead if we take much longer.

Science Crew Guys:

Catching a grin of aproval from his captain, Macharius closes his eye one last time and detects the faint sign of a psyker on the planet below, so weak theres no way it could be a living creature::

Macharius: Nobody is stopping you, Malechi. I promise not to leave without you.

Sola:

action Pose::

Malechi Darrius: You coming Sola, or am I just going to grab some pilots to fly me down?

Sola: well men what do we have here..... are we able to go down with out an ambush?

Macharius:

types up a report for the captain's chair data-feed.:: "Two warp signatures. One an imperial attack craft, obviously the endangered one. It exited warp too close to the planet, which was likely the cause of its crash. A second is a large transport vessel, that seemed to be making random warp jumps. Finally, I have detected faint trace of a psyker on the planet below, it is likely dead."

Macharius: I have forwarded a report to you, Captain, for your perusal.

Macharius:

roughly determines the coordinates of 1) The course of the crashed imperial vessel, and 2) the psyker signature. And has some crew-cartographer guy figure out where on the planet it is.::

Macharius:

and provide Captain Sola with a map
:

Sola:

reads:: we'll be on gaurd... i don't like the look of the transport vessel.... but i've seen worse horrors in my day... ....

Hangar Crew Guys:

Over the Captain's vox :: Sir we have readied the transport ship, will you be requiring a pilot or will you be taking the ship out yourself?

Sola: (( since trained i'll take it a go)) i'll take it my good man... HA HA !! off to adventure!

Macharius: Captain, bring a few crewmembers with you as back-up. I'll take command of the ship while you're planet side. Brian: ((you have the rough coordinates of the psykers signature, and you may attempt to locate the postioon of the crash site with a search +augury test))

Macharius: Crewmember Minion roll 85 vs 40+35=75

Macharius: (Stupid crewmembers! 30 lashes I say!)

Sola: " I'm so cool my nipples are erect 100% of the time" +10 to test

Macharius: (aha, vs 85!)

Macharius: (No lashes for them!)

Sola: (( BRB bathroom))

Macharius:

plots a safe landing course for Sola::

Sola: (( i'm doing the search?)) Brian: ((I guess so. Your transport can carry up to 70 passengers, but you should save some room for survivors/ salvage so it is your call on who goes with you))

Sola: I'll take 28 (+me and Darrius) men with me... for looting and saving stuff

Sola: on second thought i will take a pilot Brian: ((so 40 passenger slot open. ok, make a pilot test to navigate the transport ship out of the hanger and into the atmosphere, from there it gets bumpy so there will be a second roll with modifiers))

Sola: (( i can give him a +10))

Sola: Pilot 11 vs40

Macharius: ((Can I roll navigate (space) to assist by transmiting telemetry data from the mothership? :) )

Macharius: (Or, its not necessary!)

Malechi Darrius: ((is it a mothership?))

Macharius: (Yes, its a mothership! )

Sola: pilot 2nd 82 vs 40

Macharius: (How many crew people does it have on it? thousands and thousands, eh?) Brian: ((you can, but its not nessesary))

Macharius: 32 vs 56 navigate (space)

Sola: ever noticed space looks pretty much the same everwhere.... Brian:

the trip to the planets out atmosphere is a breaze, you are able to make it there with no complications. Once you enter the atmosphere however, you are quickly rocked by storms and flaming debris falling from the sky. You will need to make Pilot test at -20 to avoid the dangers before you.)

Sola: pilot 74 vs 20... ((i hate -20))

Sola: ((spend action dice??))

Macharius: (Fate point to reroll the 7?)

Malechi Darrius: ((yeah, yo have 4, do it)) Brian: ((spend as many as you want they dont exsist in this system))

Macharius: (If you roll a 1 or 10, you succeed)

Sola: ((thats what i meant))

Macharius: (If you get to give him a +10 with your cool power, you succeed on a 1, 2, or 10) Brian: ((you can))

Sola: ((roll a d10 for the 10s space?))

Macharius: (yeah.)

Sola: 8

Macharius: (Failsauce)

Macharius: (Another point? :) ) Brian: ((each degree of failure will hurt you more))

Sola: ((ugh spend another)) 5

Malechi Darrius: ((keep that i guess)) Brian: ((final answer??)

Sola: WOW! Fillicity (( spend another)) 1 Brian:

Fires streaks fly past your view screens but your pilot finally manages to pull off a spectacular landing only about 20 meters from the wreackage::

Macharius:

gets the crewmembers to haul his fat ass back up to the bridge, where he takes command of the ship::

Sola: that was fun.... HA HA!

Macharius:

orders crewmembers to train the laser weapon on the ship down at the planet, transmits orders to a squad of away crew goons to report on their exact position so that they can try to provide orbital laser support if there's any trouble down there::

Brian:

On the way down you notcied that sections of the planets surface are buckling uner some extreme force and have given way to form massive crevaces. The Menetoth sits precariously on the edge of one such crevace, a crew of Imperial Guardsmen are using ropes to keep it from falling in. One Guardsman who seems to be in charge puts down an emergency stellr vox and runs over to your ship, dodging flaming bolts from the sky::

Sola:

action pose:: so what seems to be the trouble?

Brian:

The goons attempt to give an accurate location for if they need support #Navigate (Surface) 89 of 40 ::

Sgt. Harmon: I don't know who you are but I am sure a shit glad you answered our call. Please tell me you are here to help.

Macharius:

disappointed in the goons' data, but orders the crew to do their best anyway::

Sola: yes... we are here to help... what do ya need?

Malechi Darrius: Captain, I think they need a way off this rock.

Sgt. Harmon: We need transport off this rock ASAP. Our ship is worthless, almost everything in it is a lost cause. It's not gonig anywhere on his own.

Sola: .... how many people do ya have?

Sola: and whats the cargo?

Sgt. Harmon:

Flaming debris shoots down from the sky targeting a random object or person. 1-6= random guardsman, 7= Sgt Harmon, 8= Sola, 9= Darrius, 10= your ship, 11= the menetoth. 5

Sgt. Harmon:

one of the guardsman holding the ship up is impacted by a large firey boulder and killed instantly. the ship looks as if it might fall into the gaping hole if the rope is not secured quickly::

Sola: .... oh .... :: command 11 vs 49:: secure that now MEN!

Macharius:

Voxcasts down to the away team:: We're getting reports of heavy volcanic instability. Recommending you begin evacuation immediately.

Sgt. Harmon:

a creman rushes out of your transport vessel, eager to lend a hand. He takes up the rope and attempts to secure it # Strength# 72 of 40

Sgt. Harmon:

The crewman tries again #Strength # 23 of 50

Sgt. Harmon:

and succeeds ::

Sola: Come with me if you want to live, Sgt. Harmon .... order your men on my ship

Sgt. Harmon: I've got over 20 injured soldiers here. Theres no cargo on that ship unless you need another hundred or so dead guardsmen.

Sgt. Harmon:

orders the men taking shelter in the crashed imperial vehicle to evacuate and make their way over to your ship. # Command # 39 vs 45

Macharius:

flashback to Macharius suggesting that they install a "servitor conversion bay" before they left the refitting station. Too bad there wasn't enough space or power for such beautiful technology!::

Sola:

air of Authority 10 crew men:: GATHER the injured NOW ::command 31 vs 49

Sola:

Macharius: (Nicely done, Nick!)

Malechi Darrius:

Followed the guardsmen into thier ship and starts hauling out the injured.::

Brian:

the guardsmen flee from the ship, and, with the asstance of Esailia's crew and Darrius, make it to the transport ship without loosing another man to the firey rain.::

Sola: LETS GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD!!!!! (+10 to the pilot)

Sola: (( -20 pilot now?? )) Brian:

at the last minute the guardsmen and crewman holding the ropes let go and break for you, the Menetoth goes careening over the edge of the cliff and disapears forever into what could be the very core of the planet::

Brian: ((yes))

Sola: Pilot 58 vs 20+ 10=30

Sola: ((MOTHER FUCKER spend last FP)) 5

Sola: (( WTF)) Brian: ((no FP for that, you had a crewman roll for the +10))

Sola: ((AWESOME BUT HE SUCKS ASS))

Macharius: ((Could have been a lot worse. :) ))

Macharius: (a 58 isn't a terrible roll)

Macharius: 99 is a terrible roll. Brian:

2 flaing rocks strike the ship as it leaves the atmosphere dealing 6 and 9 fire damage. Luckily your ship has thermal plating reducing each of these hits by 2::

Brian: flaming rocks*

Sola: ARG! My beautiful ship! Brian: ((then you just need one more pilot test to dock in Elsailia::

Macharius:

has the hangar crew prep for damage control on the incoming ship::

Sola: you can do this... takes us home ((+10)) pilot 4 vs 50 Brian:

The crewman expertly docks the ship, likely he's nervous that you are angry with him for casuing damage to it::

Sola: No worries... ya did what was needed.... : ats on the crewman's back::

Macharius: (It's a kinder, gentler warhammer 40k)

Sgt. Harmon:

and his crew exit the ship once it make a complete stop. The line up uniformly and snap neat salutes to Sola and Darrius as they step down to ramp::

Sola:

pulls the plasma gun out and points to his face:: now that we have safely landed.... you scratch any of my ships again and i'll grease my boots with your insides.... HA HA just joking

Sola:

puts gun away::

Sola:

gets out of ship with an awesome pose::

Malechi Darrius:

Laughs at the poor guardsman::

Sgt. Harmon: Sir, you have our thanks for the rescue. If there is anything we can do for you please do not hesitate to ask. Also, who are you? Not to be impolite but there isn't much in the way of passing ship in the sector of space.

Macharius:

eats another donut, gets crumbs in the captain seat::

Sola: HA HA!! You sir in the pressence of Jarrian "Sola" York.....

Sgt. Harmon:

the donut servitor leaves the bridge to get another tray::

Malechi Darrius:

Smirks and mumbles to himself:: Oh boy, here it comes...

Sgt. Harmon: Well, Mr York, Thank you.

Sgt. Harmon: I only regret that we have nothing to offer you, save for our lasguns and armor and clothing off our backs.

Sgt. Harmon: Though, if you wish, we would gladly hand even those over, as most of us have already sworn off the emperor and his armies since crashing.

Sola: and for payment of a class 3 resque.... indefinite service to me ... :: points to my own face:: unless you need us to put you back there.... : miles:: we have room

Sgt. Harmon: Sir, Yes Sir. The Remnants of The Armaggedon Steel Legion 346th Expeditionary Force is at your service.

Sgt. Harmon:

The donut servitor returns with a fresh plate. Once again he has forgoten the powdered ones::

Sola: Lets get you cleaned up... feed and some rooms... your service starts NOW!

Macharius: Moar donuts!

Sgt. Harmon:

the servitor drops the plate and leaves the bridge once again::

Macharius:

grabs a handful of jelly donut, holding them over his open mouth and squeezing the "juice" out of them. Half of it spills down over his "barechested" torso::

Sola: Sgt Harmon you will direct report to Malechi Darrius

Sgt. Harmon: Sir, if it's not above my pay grade, what kind of a ship am I now working for.

Sola: ... you are working for me... a Rouge Trader... this is Esailia my ship... any questions you will direct to Darrius....

Sgt. Harmon:

nods::

Sgt. Harmon: Mr. Darrius Sir! If it interests the captain we may have some information he may find useful.

Malechi Darrius: Let us here it then man, no need for all this protocol crap.

Macharius:

over the microbead:: Captain, did you get a chance to check out the psyker signature I detected?

Sola:

action pose::

Sola: NO!... All hell broke out... its an unstable planet :: back over the micro bead::

Sgt. Harmon: Ok sir. Well our job in the Steel Legion was to track rogue space hulks in the area of Armaggedon, infiltrate them, and sabotage their warp cores, to keep more Orks from joining the fray on our homeworld.

Sola: go on..........

Sgt. Harmon: Long story short sir, we were chasing one such vessel when our astropath took a wrong turn and got us in the situation you found us in.

Sola:

over the microbead:: Macharius is thier still a signature?

Sgt. Harmon: Thing is, I'm pretty sure it wan't loaded with Orks. Ive never seen a ship of Ork's fly AWAY from a planet with as much fighting as Armaggedon. Could be somethnig worth checking out. Not to mention a few of us have taken it sorta personally that it got away.

Macharius: Yes, may I recommend just firing the our Starbreaker Lance at it?

Sola: FINALLY...... yes

Malechi Darrius: I dont know much about Orks, is that weird for them to leave a fight?

Macharius:

orders the weapon crew to train the lance at the planet, and bombard the area where he detected the psyker signature::

Sola: Orks ..... um .... they are ... :: hard thinking pose::

Macharius:

raises the ship to "low alert" status, which sounds some crazy alarms and what not::

Brian:

the crew fires the lance weapon several times and asures you that nothnig could have survived::

Macharius:

orders them to fire some more. We may not be in Imperial Space anymore, but we are all children of the emperor, after all::

Macharius: (hehe)

Sgt. Harmon: Orks are as damn mean as they come, they can smell a war from sectors away. Unless theyre dead, they home in on one. Armaggedon is a continuous clusterfuck, and theres no way they would turn tail and run.

Sola: Well, Sgt. Harmon... this sounds fun, we shall hunt down that ship and get to the buttom of this.....

Sgt. Harmon: Nothnig would make me happier than putting more space between Armaggedon and us, and finding out why so many of my fellow Guardsmen gave their lives on that peice of shit.

Sola: ...good

Sola:

goes to his command chair::

Macharius: Captain on the Bridge! ::gives up the command chair to the captain, out of breath from standing up, and then shuffles to his navigator's seat::

Sola: .....CRUMBS!!!!! ......

Sola: IN MY CHAIR!!!!

Sola: AND YOU DIDN"T SHARE WITH ME!!!!

Pilot Servitor: Captain York. Reporting damage control from Thunderhawk Transport Serial Number 34634523-F Hull Integrity 72%. Estiamted repair time one week.

Macharius:

reaches into one of his "flesh" folds and pulls out a chunk of donut:: You can have this if you want. :;dips it in some of the jelly from earlier::

Malechi Darrius: Hey Captain, I'm going to sho these new recruits around the ship and stuff. Call me on the ead if you need me.

Sola: Val (servo skull) could you clean this for me.... :: takes the chunk:: thank you... i need some stim ( coffee) to go with this... k Darrius

Sola: have fun with the new guys

Sola:

looks at what he just grabbed:: hey you crewman.... you want my donut? :: hands it to him::

Pilot Servitor: ((For rescuing the guardsmen, you have gained 22 loyal followers. These crewmen do not count towards your crew total, so loosing them wil not incur any sort of penalty))

Sola: ((MWAHAHAHAHHA))

Pilot Servitor: ((You unfortuantly have a 20% chance to loose a profit point to cover the dmages to your transport ship. On a 1 or 2 you loose 1. #Profit Loss# 2

Sola: DAMN IT!

Pilot Servitor:

The dmage to the hull of your dropship turns out to be more serious than you thought. One of the rocks lodged itself into the life support systems, and the entire thing replaced. You have the parts availabe, but using them puts a big dent in your supplies::

Sola: Macharius can you track that "ORK" ::yes i used my fingures:: ship?

Macharius: I have an idea of which way it went when it left this system. Shall I plot a course?

Sola: yes... my goodman

Macharius: Very well. Are we going to attack it?

Macharius:

orders crewslaves to carry his seat to the private navigator chambers so he can open his THIRD EYE::

Sola: ...mmmm... no.... resreach... explore...then destroy

Pilot Servitor:

As Macharius begins to calcualte the next voyage, York surveys the meticulous workings of Esailia, and Darrius Issues the 346th a place to sleep, you a feel confident with the realative success as your first day cycle as free agents, and look towards the horizon with hope for the first time in decades.

Pilot Servitor:
