As a technician working on a under funded, soon to be forgotten research project, he did not receive any respect from his colleagues. His project was a fusion power plant, one that had already failed the first five tests.

This time would be different, in one way anyway. The villain Pulsar showed up, not to destroy anything in particular, but to impress the local news girl. There was a blast of energy from him, and it hit the fusion plant, his project finally had its first, and last, success. The plant worked long enough to overload and explode.

He survived the explosion and found that he had been given the power of the sun. He could fire lasers and light up rooms with a thought.

Starburst does fight crime, but if you would like for him to show up promptly, you should call the news networks. He is a glory hound and only appears in front of the camera.
