"You wanted to go to the tower of grief. Lets go. You now have the time to spend time remembering and reliving. Lets use that. And besides i heard time goes way fast there. " She steps next to Duncan. "We can always go for a carnival ride after tbat." She winks.

He nods, "Its hard..." He opens the trump and steps through. The place is a gray place under a night sky. The towers stretch up into misty clouds. A sense of silent doom fills the area. There are people around, a few, all looking in their own way nrvous to go up one of the tower's set of stairs.

Alex steps through with Duncan. She holds his hand for support. Support for him. Not for herself. Even with the general sense of doom in the air she feels confident enough to be there for Duncan. All the loss she had experienced wasn't as big and all is given a place. Looking at the two towers she nods to the one she figures is the tower of grief. "Ready? You want me to stay near you? Or do you want to go through it alone?"

im going to post a link for my own record but you don't have to watch it. its a clip from a Ken Burns documenatry i like a lot on the US civil War. Climbing the stairs Duncan is mentally questioned, silently, he chooses to view it as a member of the audience, yet unable to change the actions of the viewer they inhabit. He fades into civil war attire, blue, officers clothers. She in wide hooped dress in yellow and blue . After a time the two arrive in a field under a blue sky. many people mill about and the two viewers they inhabit move near the front. On stage a man is speaking and Duncan looks to the man sitting beside an empty chair. He grips her hand, points off the the left andshe sees Duncan as an Officer with a group of other officers, watching the crowd protectivly. ' The crowd is a mix of soldiers and civilians and the air is hot and heavy. She smells the smoke of war though no battle is near. A tall man stands and walks to the center replacing the original speaker. He takes off his hat and soon starts speaking. Lincoln spoke only 269 words during his address and gave history a speech for the ages.

After the speech. the couple they inhabit walk to look over a great cemetery. A sense of them walking one way lets Duncan and Alex walk like ghosts in an illusion as he walks among the head stones being laid. He stops at one spot, looks around in memory.

Alex would have watched and calmly experienced with Duncan. She had read history books of shadows. She had read history books on the civil war of earth like shadows. But to be there. To hear the words to feel the heavy air. It was quite an experience. Silent she walks with Duncan over the cemetery. Looking at headstones. And looking at them where Duncan stopped.

She doesn't ask, or expect explanations this is his memorial to go through and to remember. She just stays close. Letting him know she's near.

He walks over the fields, many being prepared for gravestones with small numbered stone markers. He stops at a split rail fence, rests his arms on it and looks out. "It was here. Picket led his division out across this long field. In line of battle. They walked slowly across over the mile it took to reach this fence. About 30 meters from here we fired. It was beautiful, as war can be. Valorous. The whole division was destroyed. Longstreet should never had given the order for Picket to advance. They both knew it was folly. But by the third day of Gettysburg Lee said he was going to stand his ground and lick the union here or they were going to lick him. We did. Lee never led troops this far into the Union again. Sam Grant eventually ruined Lee's Army but it was mortally wounded here. Grand, Pickett and I were all at West Poimt the same time. Served in Mexico together. We friends.. " He grabs her hand, kisses it. The illusion fads and they stand at the top of the stairs walking downward

She listens nods to his story. Looks out with him. When he kisses her hand and the illusion fades, Alex.in turn kisses his hand. ,"Thank you for letting me be a part of it. " She calmly walks.down. "So whats next? You want to return to Arden and our duties? Or do you want to stay away a bit longer. Rollercoasters and popcorn?"
