Motivations and Mental Disorders[edit]

Dexter is smart, but not as smart as he thinks he is; he's always got an eye to the main chance but his ambition may exceed his ability. He has skills with tech, hacking and AI and knowledge of xeno-artefacts, as well as in some useful areas related to procurement and disposal of valuable artefacts.

Personal Details, Work Performance, Special Training and Other Notes[edit]

Dexter is smart, but not as smart as he thinks he is; he's always got an eye to the main chance but his ambition may exceed his ability. He has skills with tech, hacking and AI and knowledge of xeno-artefacts, as well as in some useful areas related to procurement and disposal of valuable artefacts.

Dexter was a research technician at a facility specialising in artefacts from xenoarchaelogical site, until the facility burned to the ground one night, with the loss of all its contents, including a number of highly (portable) valuable artefacts as the fire spread through the supposedly environmentally isolated storage unit where the most valuable assets were kept.

Unfortunately the security AI was unable to access any footage or provide any other evidence of unauthorised access for the night in question, and investigations stalled fairly quickly.

With the facility gone, the technical staff were all let go. Dexter joined the crew shortly after.

The security AI “cashed in some investments” and retired shortly afterwards, citing the stress of the situation.

That would have been it, except that one of the artefacts turned up shortly later in the possession of a rich collector (a Mr Christopher). This reignited the investigation and suspicions fell on the AI, which was now curiously hard to track down, and on ex-employees. Dexter is now on the lookout for company investigators who might (unreasonably, surely) suspect him of involvement.
