The Freedom Ledger
The Freedom Ledger takes the place roughly of the New York Times with its coverage of almost everything that's worth reporting in the city, country, and the world today. The publishing house is owned by the Media Mogul family of the Beaumonts whom are reportedly "Richer than God" thanks to their consistent investment in everything cutting edge regarding the media. The Freedom Ledger is actually now only a smaller part of a much larger corporate enterprise that owns pretty much the majority of Freedom City's Global Broadcasting Network. Ironically, this hasn't lead to a degrading of the Freedom Ledger's journalism because the owner of GBN prefers to run the paper as a way of honoring his ancestors.
If there's one thing that the Freedom Ledger DOES have a problem with, it's the fact that its arguably TOO Superhero-Philiac. It's unquestioning and tireless support of anything superhero centric often calls into question its journalistic integrity and leads to plenty of individuals who aren't superhero material being given press that they shouldn't.
Likewise, the Journal is unreasonably harsh on any instance where superheroes stray outside the "Silver Age" code of nonviolence.
Fletcher Beaumont II[edit]

Our version of Perry White and Ollie Queen, he was once a Hard Traveling Hero and teamed up with Captain Thunder to see America. A hippie despite the fact he was richer than god, Fletcher was a notorious activist during the Freedom League's sillier days. Ultimately, he fell to alcholism after he lost the love of his life in the Ebony Sparrow. Fletcher is now out of shape and will never ever be anyone's idea of a dashing Bowman anymore but he insists on making up for it with crusading journalism.
His son is currently the Third Bowman.
Julia Streeter[edit]
A freckled redheaded reporter, Julia Streeter is the grand niece of Laurie Lamont and thus one of the close friends of the Centurion's mortal family. With no powers herself, she failed as a police officer when she attempted to uncover the widespread corruption of her district. Fletcher promptly hired her, ran the story, and accomplished what she wasn't able to do as a cop. Julia is heedless of danger and can handle herself thanks to her police training.

GBN's broadcaster "Action Girl", she long ago realized that television took a secondary place to news in Fletcher's businesses and spends most of her time at the Ledger in order to get a head up on scoops (it helps that they just moved the Action Reporting studios into the Ledger building). Amy is a Chinese American and utterly fearless despite the abuse she heaps on her cameramen.
True to Fletcher's liberal policies, she's also bisexual and was fired from the Herald because of it.
