The Gill Equation

Doctor Kessler developed this mathematical expression based on earlier theoretical work by a colleague of his at the Chambers Institute. The equation, which begins "3x2(9yz)4a," is named in that colleague's honor. By using numerical representations of the tableau before him as the variables, Doctor Kessler can solve the equation for a single scene. The derived results, however, are unimportant; what's vital is the mental exercise of running the numbers. The particular pattern, the mental hoops the equation makes Doctor Kessler jump through, trigger the release of a particular set of endorphins into the blood, increasing the Doctor's speed and accuracy a dozen-fold!
