Three Mountain Folk have recently emerged from the Imperial Mountain and into the light, opening a small store in an expensive corner location in Aerulius Avenue in the Imperial City. This incredible boutique store specializes in china tea sets, plates and the like and the products are of superlative quality. The merchandise is expensive beyond the income of even most patrician families.

Mnemon Daikanis has released a series of encrypted tablets known as the Daikanis Diablos Codex. He has promised that these tablets contain death for the unworthy, and the true names and potent summoning circles for the scholar who deciphers them. One of these secrets is supposed to turn crossroads into a trap for demons of the First Circle. Interest is high in this work from the grandson of the Empress herself!

Sesus Sikandi has slain the unslayable Coral Harrower! This horrid behemoth, thought to be unstoppable because of it's bizarre ability to absorb and internalize any weapon it was hit with, including essence energy and jade, will no longer plague the shipping passages south of Arjuf!

The Most Numinous Jagalza, Diefied Overseer of the Realm and Patron of Provincial Governors, has begun the Dance of Fluttering Bladed Eyelashes with Sesus Sereda, Seneschal of the Honorable and Humble Caretakers of the Common Folk. The pair is engaging in monthly tea ceremonies, with invitations to Sereda's manse being matched with those to Jagalza's sanctum, games of Gateway, and gift-giving sessions of mutual admiration, respect and love. This relationship is the greatest favor Jagalza has shown to a Dynast in over 500 years, and the growing respect and appreciation will grow to it's proper and assigned climax, with one party assassinating the other without feeling the slightest hesitation, guilt or hostility.

In the foothills of Chorry, in the there lives on the urban legend of the Nightingale Demon, a impossibly beautiful and seductive creature known to seduce and devour traveling singers to improve the quality of her own voice. The leader of the local cloister, Abbot Mourning Gust, has denied the existence of such a monster, but at least six singers have vanished in the past month.

The Salt Rate was recently lowered to 2.75%, increasing market activity and speculation (more on this in another entry). This has agitated the Small Gods of Salt, requiring increased activity from the appropriate monks and sorcerers in keeping them placate and dominated, but is a strong indicator of the economic and spiritual stability of the Isle.

Cynis Mond, the Windtamer, is said to have been himself tamed. The Home Office has finally persuaded the man to perform maintenance on the somewhat erratic weather devices on the North-East of the Isle and to subdue the sky gods that recklessly caused the damage without requiring the Empress to call in her service. It is rumored they offered to use their influence to make his niece, Cynis Trepeka, a Prefect. Next year should be a wonderful year for agriculture and yachting near the isle!

The Cleansing Dagger, a moderately important river in the Sdoia Prefecture, has found itself a "defender" in the strange draconic creature calling itself the Daggerlord. The Daggerlord is an immensely potent elemental, probably of Wood, and has set itself to guarding over ships coming up or down the river for the price of a single dagger. Unfortunately, an aspect of this "guardianship" is to challenge any Prince of the Earth to journey down the river to single combat. If defeated, it would let them pass, but if victorious, they must surrender any jade they are carrying to the beast's horde. This has been worked around by traders, who simply don't carry jade down the river, but it is a growing problem for the Wood Fleet, who have had seven Exalted commanders and captains loose their amour and weapons in this manner. House Peleps is subtly seeking a Sworn Brotherhood to engage in an "adventure" to fix this and return the goods.

Ragoly Aglde of the Wings Conjoined in Flames has struck down Impious Manosque Rivaldi, last of the Manosque family, for daring to summon his seneschal, Broken Wood Splutters for the Inferno, for a months service. This brutal and public slaying- the smell of burnt flesh would not leave the Lord's Crossing Eastern Plaza for days- has been kept quiet by the instructors from the Heptagram, to the point of bribing the Immaculate Order, and they have sent their own emissaries to speak with Ragoly.

Yesterday, the Pillar Hall of the Righteous has dispatched a Wyld Hunt to deal with a potent Ghost- presumed to be the Hungry Ghost- of an Anathema that has escaped from the cursed city on the slopes on the Immaculate Mountain and overcome the Mandate-Keepers that attempted to engage it. This creature burst from the Ruined City on the first day of Calibration, armed with a shadowy diaklave in each of it's four arms, and has stayed alive by avoiding the Imperial City and the local cloisters and temples and attacking only lone figures. Most horrifically, it is being served by the hungry ghosts of two Fire-Aspected Mandate-Keepers, increasing its power and danger.
