Back to The hidden face of Omnicorp

Officially, Omnicorp has created and supports the Omni-Force both because it helps protect the city from supervillains, because it helps PR, and because Omnicorp has an interest in studying superpowers.

That is all true, but it hides the Omni-Force's true nature.

The division of the Force into three squads is done by necessity - membership is determined based on how much individuals are in league with Omnicorp's illegal dealings. The Gamma Squad contains true superheroes, with the exception of its leader - Omnicorp makes sure to keep this squad busy and away from the situations where it could discover that which George Li wishes to keep secret. The Beta Squad (again, except their leader) is made of metahumans who understand that Omnicorp is corrupt, and are willing to look the other way - but do not realize the supervillainous depths to which the corporation has sunk. The Alpha Squad, finally, is comprised of individuals who are, essentially, supervillains passing themselves as heroes. Some are simply corrupt metahumans that Omnicorp has groomed for the role, such as Captain Quanta. Others used to be active as supervillains under different identities, before Omnicorp fashioned them a new one to join the Omni-Force under.

Through the Omni-Force, George Li can exert a strong influence on the superhero community of Megalopolis, further manipulating events to suit his needs. That this provides his R&D department (and by extension, Dr. Trick) with opportunities to study and understand superpowers is a huge bonus.

Plot seeds:

  • The Double-Life and Times of a Metahuman: The heroes come across evidence suggesting that a member of the Omni-Force is in reality a villain who disappeared years ago, given a different costume and identity (and possibly plastic surgery). If they try to reveal this information to the public, Omnicorp is certain to have a plan ready to "disprove" their claims. Can the heroes force out the truth despite the corporation's massive clout?
    • Alternatively, the villain may be one the heroes arrested in a previous adventure, and is still thought to be imprisoned within End Point. Which will complicate things for all parties involved...
  • A Death in the Force: One of the Gamma Squad's members - possibly someone the heroes knew - has died in mysterious circumstances. If they investigate, they may find hints that he was eliminated due to discovering something. After all, even Omnicorp is going to have trouble keeping the Gamma Squad from discovering its dirty laundry forever.
