Description[edit]

An Ymera on the move need never leave her Chancel behind. The Lonely Locus is a haunted place, a place of lost battlefields, empty seas, calcified islands, deadly poisonous jungles, smoking ruins and endless falling. All of this exists within the body of the Lonely Serpent. The different locations within shift and change location and do not correlate to any particular organ within the Serpent, all except for the Osseous Temple, which exists in some nexus of being comparable to the heart, the brain, the spine or the soul.

Crafted long ago by tribal worshipers of the Dragon Queen and her Nobilis, the Osseous Temple is a work of constantly moving magic. Enormous beyond measure, larger on the inside than the outside, the Osseous Temple is a fortress, a cathedral, a sepulcher and a command center. From here the Nobilis can subtly direct their Lady towards some new location, can organize and coordinate her armies of hellbeasts and necroborgs, and can relax in repose from the trials and tribulations of the Valde Bellum and the tedium of tending their Estates. The rooms and halls twist and bend, reforming and reshaping like an enormous puzzle box. The Temple itself does not stay in any one position, often looming over calmer areas within the Serpent or seeming to free-fall for weeks on end when she is more agitated and active. Defying logic and reason, The Lonely Serpent can squeeze an avatar of herself into her inner world, but only within the boundaries of the Osseous Temple. Here she will rest, safe within herself, like a strange tesseract-ourobouros, under the warm fires of Hell she dragged up long ago.

To access the Chancel from the Prosaic Earth one requires only enough smoke to walk through in the same general area the Lonely Serpent is currently traveling the Mythic World. From that more spiritual realm one can attempt to enter from a few different points on the Serpent's body, but all should be warned of the ferocious guardians preventing anyone from coming in uninvited.
