Mr. Lovejoy,

The arrival of your letter by unorthodox means was a surprise. I was unaware that you were so intimately connected to the American faction. Such knowledge does of course lead me to reinterpret our interactions in Detroit. No doubt you have since had further information from your allies that shows myself in a different light as well.

To address your inquiries:

The Moscow Institute of Emergency First Aid was renamed and established as The Nikolay Sklifosovsky Institute in 1923. The institute is one of the Tsarina's personal and favorite charities, so it is well financed and well favored.

The institute had previously been a public hospital originally constructed and opened in 1810. However, with the change in name, a change in administration was also put into place, and the facilities have since been modernized and expanded. While its primary function is still to serve the medical needs of the public, it also engages in medical research with a focus on rare and unique disorders, such as cerebral fungi.

I do not know if the institute is conducting research that parallels the work of Doctor Parkhurst, as I do not have access to that information. There are certainly many within Russia that would benefit greatly from such research — hence my reasons for purchasing the journal from Mr. Grayson.
