The Tower Grass Incident
the Assasin Vines continued to attack Danning and Mosgrim. (I know you WANTED to attack Shevinu but they had NO intelligence and were just attacking as monster for whatever moved, that included the horses and people)...
Lola fought her way back into the Entangling Grass area just as Danning
went unconcious and to the ground. Lola got the Vine to stop attacking
Danning and it attacked her (failing on a Natural 1) she got a free
move without AoO to grab Danning and run.
That Vine then kept moving and swarmed on Shevinu and his horse. It
chose Shevinu to attack but FAILED it's Grapple 3 rounds in a row. All
the while Shevinu was hoping it would grapple him so he COULD cast a
touch spell he was holding!
As Lola rushed Danning into the Tower Grass away from the Vines, he
began bleeding to death but she couldn't stop it and didn't have time
since the others were in trouble. Lola circled the Entangled to move in
toward Mosgrim.
Meanwhile Mosgrim had made it out of the Entangles and Raged back in
nearly killing the second Vine - just before being taken down himself.
Similar to before Lola rushed in and stopped the Vine from getting a
chance to finish Mosgrim by getting it to attack her...
Lola got hit but not grappled several times as Danning and Mosgrim lay
dying... only a few rounds left to bleed OUT.
Lola killed the second Vine and then continued on to find Shevinu, she
then struggled but killed the first Vine with a little help from a
strange large mystical SCYTHE that appeared in the grass!!
Helping free Shevinu they had two rounds before BOTH Mosgrim and
Danning would die ON THE SAME ROUND!! (at -10 plus constitution modifier)
Shevinu rushed to Mosgrim as he was closest, healed him to stablize...
then with Lola rushed to Danning......
He cast a minor heal and dove for Danning............
Barely succeeding on a chance to hit Danning, at the VERY LAST SECOND
for the touch spell they helped the two back to their feet.
The two horses' legs were broken, dead. The borro stood it's ground and
survived with minor aid.
Lola and Shevinu loaded all the equipment from the horses onto the Borro
(she needs a name!) while the dwarf noted it might be good to scout the
immediate area for any additional hazzards or perhaps the Vine's nest.
After some tracking he and Danning came onto the spot - seeing large cats
watching them they pushed forward and made the Grass Cats spooked
enough to retreat from the Assassin Vine nest.
In the nest (about 60' diameter) Danning detected for magic and saw some
glow on some arrows (in the Swag list). They called the rest of the group
and determined that the Vines had killed a few different parties in the past.
- a lower Legate of the Eren River Valley, his Oruk bodyguard and some
dogs
- a small Ork patrol of 5-6 and their horses.
all dead the stuff found and the bodies recovered are all on the LARGE swag
list.
that's when we wrapped the game deciding that it would be best to meet Quarion on the other side next game session.
the TRICK for next game session is to start rebuilding a little trust between the group. to NOT badger Quarion for doing what he thought was right. Maybe give him some good ribbing but allow him to come back into the fold easily.
Maybe have a good discussion about the nature of this new group, if the
DWARF plans to stay with you... if Lola is in fully now... and WHO is the
"leader" of the group.
