The prickly tingling fear of your doom, always in your head—it holds you back most of the time. But right here, right now? It gives you the confidence to do anything. Team Moves[edit]

When you share a triumphant celebration with someone, give them Influence over you and spend 1 Team from the pool to clear one box on your doom track.

When you share a vulnerability or weakness with someone, give them Influence over you and ask if they honestly think there’s hope for you. If they say yes, mark potential or clear one box of your doom track. If they say no, mark a condition or mark your doom track.

Nemesis[edit]

Steerpike: He's the one who started all of this. She has to stop him, to stop all of it... that's what the Doc would want. Too bad she has no idea who he really is or what he' doing in this time... or how to stop the Future from happening.

At the end of every session, answer the question: Did you make progress on defeating your nemesis? If the answer is yes, mark potential. If the answer is no, mark your doom track.

Doom[edit]

My Doom comes when I over-exert myself or when I talk about it openly. The more I damage the timeline and the more I overtax the quantum superstring loop in my brain, the more likely I am to just... come apart at the chronological seams... and then no one will be able to stop what's coming.

Doomsigns[edit]

Portal: Mark your Doom track to appear in a scene with anyone you want

Sanctuary[edit]

The Bubble: A homebase outside of time.

Advantages: a teleportal, a powerful computer, healing equipment

Drawbacks: tied intricately to my Doom, draws dangerous attention

Backstory[edit]

When did your first learn of your doom? Well, doom came when the world ended. When the forces Steerpike unleashed blew the previously undiscovered Colombian super-volcano, human civilization as anyone knew it was no more. That's not going to happen for another 51 years, but it's still Doom.

Where did you get your Sanctuary? It's my temporal anchor, a null-time, trans-phase space, that fuels itself on the eddie churn of quantum foam in the margins of the event-flow. Yes, I know; I had to have it explained to me a lot before I got it, too.

Anyways, the Bubble was waiting for me the day I got deputized in a mission to save the future by going into the past and making sure none of it ever happened. It's a pretty nice place, good views of time and space to even if it's not super easy to get it to show you anything you WANT to see.

I tell the others I fell into it, like it was waiting for me somehow... which is not quite a lie.

Why do you oppose your nemesis? To save the future... duh. This one-way trip is already a death sentence for me... least I can do is make sure mankind gets to stick around after I'm gone.

Who outside of the team, is crucial to defeating your nemesis? Professor Eberto Ionio, aka fifteen year old Ebbie Ionio. The Doc gave everything to get me here... and if anything happens to his younger self, who knows what would happen?!

Why does the team matter to you? I tried to do this alone... but I couldn't. I don't know where Steerpike is, or even WHO he is, and I don't know what I'm supposed to do to get things back on track.

Besides, compared to the last six years of my life, it's nice to have... fun with people again.

When Our Team First Came Together[edit]

We Paid a High Cost for Victory, What Was It?

Somebody died. Another hero, a good guy, he might even have been the leader of our little group if things had gone different. We've got his mask hung up, in the base, as a reminder.

Relationships[edit]

You told Skullgirl all about your Doom and the danger you're in.

You'd love to kiss 8-Track before your Doom comes.

Influence[edit]

These people matter for what you need to do. Give Influence to two of your teammates.

Who has Influence over me... Skullgirl, 8-Track

Potential[edit]

Every time you roll a Miss on a move, mark Potential.
