Air[edit]

Windbridges of Karowyn[edit]

Level 1 Air Manses, five in total
The Windbridges are Karowyn's most valuable defence, spanning the ravines that split the island. Each bridge is made from silk rope, spun with Air essence. On command, the bridges can expand wide enough to safely carry a horse and cart, or contract to the thickness of a single hair. A few trusted elders are given wind chimes capable of controlling the bridges, but the primary controller lies in the centre of Karowyn's capital. Gongs and bells in the great temple can be heard across the island, and can be used to override any of the portable chimes.
The Windbridges of Karowyn each produce a Surefoot Gem. The manses have the following properties: Habitability Flaw (-1); Password Activation (1); Magic Convenience (1), Network Node (1). Based on the "Nine Filigreed Bridges of Felubic," OC:79.

Circle of the Elders[edit]

Level 2 Air Manse
The Circle of the Elders is found to the distant North, in the homelands of the Winter Paw tribe. From without, the manse appears to be a simple circle of menhirs, each carved with images of hunting animals. Stepping into the circe takes those who enter to a hidden valley, impossibly concealed between the stones. Here, the wind speaks to the valley's occupants - bringing warnings of intruders. A well equipped group could camp here for several months, foraging for food within the valley.
The Circle of the Elders produces a Crystal of the Frozen North hearthstone. It has the following properties: Habitability flaw (-2); Mela's Sweet Whisper (1); Outside Worlds Within (5).

Fire[edit]

Diaan's Hearth[edit]

Level 3 Fire Manse
Named for its creator, Diaan's Hearth is a metal-working workshop concealed in the southern mountain range, several hundred miles east of Rakandra. The workshop is surrounded by rocky terrain, and bordered to the south by the Sea of Fire. Natural hazards and defensive construction combine to make a structure rivalling many fortresses in resilience. The manse caps a level 4 demense, and uses Essence Vents to bleed off excess essence in a fiery corona.
Diaan's Workshop produces a Perfected Artifice Gem. It has the following properties: Habitability flaw (-1), Fortress (3), Workshop (3), Essence Vents (1).
