Motivations and Mental Disorders[edit]

Trang is motivated by a strong sense of duty. To her family and country. Even if it is somewhat damaged.
She would not betray the CIA either, Trang belives that 'Frank' told her about 'Tiger Transit', and other things, to get her help.
Another motivation is to prove that she is worthy of the trust and schooling that her family put in her.
She fears failure or being exposed as a fraud. Imposter syndrome a bit. She feels she did fail in Zamboanga that week...

PTSD - Managed by therapy, rest and excercise (Disorder is cured)

Personal Details, Work Performance, Special Training and Other Notes[edit]

Trang Tan- medically retired CIA Case Officer (Deep Cover) Vietnamese - American woman, DOB 1980 Houston TX Worked as a Field Agent in the Philippines and SE Asia Retired due to PTSD

Runs, SCUBA dives and still practices Jujutsu

Trang was born and grew up in Galveston Texas, not the touristy part, the part near the fishing fleet. Her family had escaped from Vietnam before she was born and she felt that she owed someting back, that was a long time ago. She did well in school as she felt that was her job, and before she knew it she was finishing up a Political Science degree at UT Austin and getting recruited by the CIA. 9/11 really pulled focus away from anything else but the GWOT. Flattered at first, her language skills got her sent up to the Dept of Operations and a posting in the capital of PACOM, Manila. The real deal, Regional Service Center - Manila, flying with Evergreen Aviation contractors, Asia Foundation policy wonks. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Enduring_Freedom_%E2%80%93_Philippines)

Shortly she was tasked with running a network of informants on Luzon and then a shift to Thailand before settling back into Mindanao. Now everything was different, she had been around, seen the elephant and was working alone quite a bit. Hit her straps as they say. Seeing operators around didn't phase her anymore. Just co-workers. Betting big. Scared money don't make none...

In Mindanao 2013, Zamboanga City when everything MNLF went to shit, network blown, friends and assets killed. Stuck in the city for a couple days before she could get out. Thought she was a refugee they said. Empty magazine... hiding was all that was left really. Soo hungry and thirsty. Blood everywhere. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zamboanga_City_crisis , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Marawi)

Afterwards, an assignment, a cushy one at the behest of the head shed. Bangkok, then points North with the Border Police. "Why am I even up here?" Then she met 'Frank' he showed her why. Hundreds of villagers, layed out in rows, missing organs, eyes. Covered in white powder, not lye, not coke. 'Frank' said it was someting else. She worked that angle sleepwalking really, until they said she should probably go stateside. Take some time off, think about that Masters in IR.

She did think about that Masters in IR, never started it though. Couldn't sleep reliably. Yelled at people for little reason. Therapy helped eventually.
