Memento Canis, also known as the Can'dori

Commonly known as the can'dori, the species of memento known as memento canis is little more than a small dog, bred for viciousness. Some trainers who felt that the violence of this creature could be improved decided to invoke darker powers in doing so, and bred a dog with a touch of connection to the Void; the result is the memento canis.

Dark

The can'dori has a subtype unique to mementos, the dark subtype, which indicates a suffusion with negative energy (but is not undead). As a result, the can'dori gains darkvision of 60 feet, and light sensitivity (can'dori are dazzled in bright sunlight or within the radius of a daylight spell).
A creature of the dark subtype is immune to mind-affecting effects.

Howl (Technique)

The can'dori unleashes a blood-chilling howl. It gains a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls for 1d4 rounds.

Sand-attack (Technique)

The can'dori kicks up sand, dirt, or other loose material at an adjacent opponent. The creature must make a Reflex save, or get a -4 circumstance penalty on all attack rolls for 1d4 rounds.

Bite

The can'dori learns how to use its sharp teeth to its advantage. The can'dori gains a bite attack in addition to its other attacks. In addition, when it hits a creature with its bite attack, if your target fails a Fortitude save, it is restricted to taking a single partial action on its next turn (as though it had been slowed).

Scent

The can'dori gains the scent extraordinary ability.

Evolution

At 5th level, the can'dori has become sufficiently mature, and begins to exhibit the traits of its adult form, the memento lupis, more commonly known as the min'dori. The can'dori may begin taking levels in the min'dori race prestige class.
In addition, the can'dori grows to Small size.

Roar (Technique)

The can'dori lets loose a fierce roar, frightening nearby creatures. Any creatures within a 30 ft cone from the can'dori must make a Will save or be frightened. Creatures with more Hit Dice than the can'dori are merely shaken if they fail the Will save. Either effect lasts for 1 round.

Scary Face (Technique)

The can'dori makes a horrific grimace at a creature within Close range, frightening them into submission. The targeted creature must make a Will save or else have its speed halved as though by decelerate.

Taunt (Technique)

The can'dori snips at an adjacent creature, luring it into attacking. The creature must make a Will save; if it fails, it must attack the can'dori on its next turn.

Take Down (Technique)

The can'dori runs full-speed at a creature. As a full-round action, you may charge a creature; once the charge attack resolves, you may attempt to bull-rush or trip your target (you cannot choose to not do either, however). As part of that action's resolution, you take 1d6 points of damage.

Sucker Punch (Technique) [Dark]

If the can'dori is attacked in melee, it may - as an immediate action - make a single attack against the creature that attacked it.

Crunch (Technique) [Dark]

The can'dori's bite attack may, instead of causing the creature to lose a partial action on its next turn, weaken the creature's defenses, resulting in a -4 penalty to AC for 1 round/level (unless a successful Fortitude save is made); in addition, half the damage dealt by the bite attack is negative energy damage.

Intimidate

Any creatures that come within Close range of the min'dori must make a Will save; if they fail, they suffer a -2 morale penalty to their attack rolls for 1d4 rounds. Once affected by this ability (or if the save is made), a creature is immune to this ability for one day.

Roar (Technique)

The min'dori lets loose a fierce roar, frightening nearby creatures. Any creatures within a 30 ft cone from the can'dori must make a Will save or be frightened. Creatures with more Hit Dice than the can'dori are merely shaken if they fail the Will save. Either effect lasts for 1 round.

Dark Pulse (Technique) [Dark]

As a full-round action, the min'dori emits a high-frequency pulse of negative energy, accompanied by an ultrasonic screech. The pulse deals 1d4/level points of negative energy damage to all creatures within 20 feet; with a Fortitude save halving the damage. In addition, any creatures that fail the Fortitude save must make another Fortitude save, or else only be able to take a partial action on its next turn.

Crunch (Technique) [Dark]

The min'dori's bite attack may, instead of causing the creature to lose a partial action on its next turn, weaken the creature's defenses, resulting in a -4 penalty to AC for 1 round/level (unless a successful Fortitude save is made); in addition, half the damage dealt by the bite attack is negative energy damage.

Thief (Technique)

(Essentially gain a feat from the BoRL - will be added later.)

Take Down (Technique)

The min'dori runs full-speed at a creature. As a full-round action, you may charge a creature; once the charge attack resolves, you may attempt to bull-rush or trip your target (you cannot choose to not do either, however). As part of that action's resolution, you take 1d6 points of damage.

Sucker Punch (Technique) [Dark]

If the min'dori is attacked in melee, it may - as an immediate action - make a single attack against the creature that attacked it.

Taunt (Technique)

The min'dori snips at an adjacent creature, luring it into attacking. The creature must make a Will save; if it fails, it must attack the can'dori on its next turn.
