Background

Yoshio is a bounty hunter from the minor Wasp clan, who tends to follow the traditionalists of the family. He entered the traditional bounty hunter school, follows the traditional Wasp clan code rather than Bushido (though he realises the importance of Bushido to Rokugani culture and does not break those tenets), and has even been placed with a magistrate for further study and experience, as many Tsuruchi do.

Yoshio successfully passed his gempukku ceremony about a year ago, and since then has wandered from town to town following bounties. He has managed to capture several outlaws in that time, and was circling on on his largest target yet when his orders came through to immediately report to a Dragon magistrate for further duties. Yoshio is a little put out that he was not able to complete his latest bounty (once sworn to a task, he follows through), and wonders whether the target had friends in high places who managed to deflect Yoshio's investigation because he was getting to close. It's not the first time he has been stymied while trying to track down this particular target.

Yoshio does have a tendency to see connections where others do not (and admittedly, often where they don't actually exist). While this has not (yet) devolved into full paranoia, some of Yoshio's theories have been verging on the outlandish lately. Perhaps some more mundane and straightforward investigations with this magistrate will be good for him after all. Just as long as the hungry dead are not involved. Yoshio has only had one encounter with those spirits, and did not enjoy the experience.
