Njama - the Witchs' Cabal[edit]

Njama is the name of the secret society that includes witches, cannibals, assassins and other evil doers. More than a political party or a simple cult, Njama is like a force of nature, the unavoidable dark side of civilization. The Makodi, the Host of Angry Dead, are ever present, and anyone willing to open his soul to darkness can receive their aid and power. To a certain extent, the power of Njama comes from very real persecution. Witches are mutants, they cannot help the way they are born, and Ubantu society will ruthlessly hunt and kill them even if they do no harm at all. This righteous anger, combined with the ubiquitous fear, creates a very powerful force that is both social and supernatural.

Interestingly, Njama has a very strong code of honor. Witches and cannibals, for all their wholehearted evil, work together and protect each other. They have a sense of common cause and alligence that just makes them more dangerous. In the Amazimu villages there is competition and murder and such, but the plot which destroyed Siyathemba was beautifully and carefully orchestrated.

Wachawi, Awanga, Irimu and Wazimwi are all automatically part of Njama. Thieves can be - the penalties for theft are brutal, and professional thieves lead very dangerous lives, but Njama is not about profit. Wazimwi in Umasha are sleeper agents - expect no aid from an Orge.
