Orianna was born to a minor noble house sworn to those controlling a city-state in the coast. Despite being low in the line of succession to an insignificant house, as a noblewoman she grew up comfortably and was expected to comply with the duties coming with the position. Among them, was sealing an alliance through marriage with the renowned velvet merchants guild of Istria.
Marriage proved liberating for both Orianna and her husband. Neither was particularly thrilled about it, and in time they struck a deal to cover for one another as they pursued their own goals. While her husband is busy politicking in the court, Orianna became finally free to set off to see the world and prove her worth in her own right. They have a friendly relationship, catching up and helping each other when they cross paths, but they're not in love and agreed to discreetly pursue their own romantic interests.
