Ethan Rhenfeldt was over a century old at the time of his death and devoted to the collection of rare or powerful artifacts that might pose a danger to the world. This fascination with the arcane lead him to found Thrane's Argentum (before said organization became corrupted by the powers of evil).

History[edit]

Originally, Warehouse 42 belonged to House Cannith and was one of Aaren D'Cannith's workshops. Merrix D'Cannith the Elder used this place to hide financially useless but brilliant works like the perpetual motion machine, the Miracle Cure All (from Mordain Fleshweaver), and other things that were created by House Cannith that threatened their perpetual domination of free trade by being too effective.

After Merrix III was born and Aaren D'Cannith was exiled, the clone Zorlan D'Cannith began filling the place with his own research that was taken from study of Atlan technology. The Warforged Creation Forges were amongst the devices studied here and amongst the few that were ever allowed to leave Warehouse 42 when it was done.

The Mourning brought an end to Zorlan's experimentations and Ethan Rhefeldt drove him out just in time to prevent many of the most powerful objects from being transferred to Zorlan's castle in Karrnath. From there, Ethan proceeded to wrap the place in exceptionally strong wards and made it his own storage place.

Ethan transferred all of his private collection of terrible artifacts and weird items to Warehouse 42 over the past three years. He then slowly began removing the most dangerous artifacts of the Argentum from them while sending people to work on ways of destroying the more terrible devices. Ethan began to sense the Argentum was being corrupted and could no longer be trusted to safely keep the items in their possession.

The Emerald Claw made a raid upon this place in the year of 999 A.G. after Ethan's death.
