Wellspring of Life

There are many different afterlives and tales of "the next world" across the multiverse. These range wide and varied. But there are still very similar concepts in each of them. Specifically the passing on in question either claims the soul to reach a new exaltation of power (entrance into the gates of heaven) receive punishment for all eternity (thrown into hell) or be reincarnated into a new form (typically a common sentient race, depending on past or future events). There are many different stories as to why or where this happens. But the truth is that all souls. Those to be made new and those to be recycled go through the same process. That is passing through the Wellspring of Life.

Topography

The wellspring has environments and landscapes of any manner. Because it draws in souls from all over the multiverse, the lives and experiences of millions of very different individuals are allowed to shape the landscape in any way the soul can see fit. At times people can be wandering through a land of absolute bliss and tranquility. Other times though the place can take a much darker, more sinister tone. Particularly where concentrate amounts of evil Aura have gathered.

Incarnum

The stray indigo colored energy that effeminates from the wellspring is the source of life for all beings in the universe. It is wise to note that incarnum is not particularly a healing or boosting effect. It gives life but bodies are designed specifically to hold only a certain amount of soul energy. Unless the person in question is adept as acquiring, controlling or manipulating soul magic, letting yourself be bombarded by raw incarnum can have some disastrous side effects.

Soulless

Darmaru has a multitude of warriors and monsters at his beck and call. The term "soulless" need not apply to them all as many do indeed still have their souls (only the undead among them do not) but it is true that almost all monsters or servants of him have had their souls removed at least once for use of... experimentation. Darmaru possess many "template souls" that he can combine with other non-altered souls and have them take on the traits of the template soul he gave them. A few examples would be...

Maid Template - Women of great skill or power tend to get the maid template added to their soul by Darmaru. Whether this is an act of lechery or not is suspect. But it's true that women who get the template become loyal servants to him and gain the signature headdress and uniform. Because most women who're recruited this way are of incredible skill or power. It is best to not underestimate them. Only Sonia Dragonslayer and Vera Craft have escaped from having their soul grafted. Whatever way they uncovered of returning themselves to normal, they have not told anyone else.

Beast Template - Sometimes Darmaru decides to simply combine two souls for no reason and see what they produce inside a specific body. Unsurprising this tends to have an effect on the physical body. Occasionally a person will simply take on a more animalistic nature, sometimes their eyes will change or their fingers and toes will become webbed. Other times the person will mutate to such an extreme state he fails to look like either of the two souls before they were combined.

Halfbreed Template - It's well known that a human born from a human and an angel or a human and a demon will breed a half-spawn child. Darmaru has found a significant way to have a person successfully change from human to half angel or demon with some careful grafting. The act will often times corrupt (or purify) a soul beyond recognition. But it's no doubt that the person in question is now more demonic/angelic than he was before. The only thing Darmaru has failed to fully graft is an angel soul to a demon soul. Something he hopes to fix rather soon...

Alan

Darmaru's latest and greatest "project". Alan is supposedly a human carrying a purely angelic soul. This soul is particularly strong in him, allowing him to channel it out of his body in short concentrated bursts. By utilizing the power of his soul. Alan can shape swords, armor, weapons and various other items with the power of his soul alone. Alan is (roughly speaking) only a week or so old so he has yet to understand the greater concepts of good and evil. Still Alan serves Darmaru as he is really the only person he truly knows or understands well enough.

Darmaru

A neigh invincible demi-god of souls. Darmaru is an ultimately apathetic being who is content with simply toying with what if often regarded to be the most sacred part of a being. Darmaru is not particularly greedy in his quest for souls (he has plenty of them) but he is always on the lookout for souls of unique quality which attract his attention. And he is not adverse to taking that which he truly desires.
