Player: Davi The Eccentric

Xaven Zedlai, The Third M Vanaar, 4-8', 135 lbs

The Vanaar are one of the few races in this universe based not on carbon or silicon, but metal. Located on a small, resource-poor planetoid one the fringe of the galaxy, they went by mostly unnoticed. They were at most an interesting biological curiosity until roughly 150 cycles ago when a warp-capable ship crashed on their world, forcing first contact. The Vanaar quickly reverse-engineered the craft and entered the galaxy. They began to enter trade agreements with other races the major corporations deemed beneath their notice. And then, before anyone really knew what was happening, Vanaar had a chokehold on the entire nebellium supply for this half of the galaxy and they had to be acknowledged.

The Vanaar consider adaptability one of their greatest virtues. Adaptability is what let them construct their great cities when they barely had the material for a single tower made in the traditional style. Adaptability is what let them construct FTL-capable craft a decade after acquiring the technology. And adaptability was what let the Zedlai Consortium force their way onto the galactic scene. Before, several corporations were competing with each other. But when they entered the galactic scene, Xaven Zedlai (The First) realized that they were all now small fish in a very big pond. So, he sent his competitors a message: come together, or die apart. That day, the Zedlai Consortium was formed, and to this day it’s one of the largest mercantile presences in the outer rim.

But that was over a century ago. Today, Xaven Zedlai The Second still holds a seat on the Zedlai Consortium’s coucil dispite his advancing age. His son is currently on a silly game show because he hijacked a hovercar and jumped it over the Nidalke Ravine. Let’s rewind a bit. Xaven wanted a son that was adaptable in body as in mind. So he hired the best biologists money could buy and made his son into something more than the average Vanaar.

While Mr Zedlai was a great businessman, he was not a good father. He barely ever met with his own son, and he barely showed a hint of affection to the boy. Eventually, young Xaven realized his father came to see him more when he did something wrong. Thus, he did more and more wrong, broke more and more rules, all in an attempt to get his father’s attention. But not too long ago he went too far. He fought his way up to the top of the highest tower on Vanaar and jumped off. He survived the fall thanks to his body, but even his father’s prestige couldn’t keep him out of trouble. But then the producers for SHR approached him, offered him a slot on their next season. How could he refuse an offer to get on galactic television?

Description Liquid metal in the form of a man, the specifics of Xaven’s form are constantly shifting. Thus, a more elaborate description would be rather useless. The only constant are the glittering eyes set in his nearly-blank face.

Personality Xaven is nothing if not a showman. If all eyes are not on him, he obviously isn’t trying hard enough. Granted, this means he’ll probably die young and leave a beautiful puddle when he jumps into a spotlight he shouldn’t have. That’s probably why the producers chose him, along with his flashy power set. But beneath all the flash, there’s just a young boy in desperate need of his father’s approval.
