Yntar Machines

The Yntar are a race of machines that apparently are partially biologically based, in that they are grown rather than constructed, feed and even seem to breed at times, though most are grown from a template. The standard organism is a roughly humanoid design, others are smaller and more beetle-like in their construction. Though even some of their buildings and transport vehicles should be counted as mebers of their race. They are mostly the remnants of a wholly biological species, spread out across a handful of presumably terraformed worlds (as they are all of highly similar environment) within a dozen light years of each other. Most of their interaction with other species is knowledge trade and exchange, though they have at times resorted to violence to drive off more aggressive races. Their spirituality relates more to a few old legends and stories retained from their long departed creator race than any religious context.
