Black Jonas, soon to be the greatest magician of this age, perhaps of any age. That's not arrogance, that's just a fact.

''How long have you been in the city?''
Less than a month as a permanent resident. I first visited about two years ago, early in my training.

''What keeps you up at night?''
Apparently the manner of my arrival (in that I seized someone else's sanctum and made it my own) seems to have upset some powerful people, and I'm using the term "people" loosely. Maintaining the magical defenses here takes a lot of attention to detail and I'm often worried I've missed something.

''What have you sacrificed for your power?''
My father disowned me for not taking over the family business and my mother for trucking with unnatural creatures, and I betrayed my teacher to gain access to his power. Now it seems I can't go back without compromising my situation here.

''What do you desperately need?''
Allies. It seems power and talent isn't enough to earn you security here, and so far I have been unable to make myself useful to anyone with real pull.

A sanctum: A three-floor tower visible only to those with the sight (which should include pretty much anyone here) with magical booby traps, a library of old tomes, magical wards, and a scattering of ancient relics, but its location is known by many and it attracts otherworldly attention.
