===Cult (**)=== "Cecelyne's Lady watches..." A slowly growing number of the populace of Terminal City know that turn of phrase. A strange language that most are unfamiliar with has started showing up in the graffiti near patches of silver sand that mysteriously appear overnight. A couple of college professors are tracking the strange graffiti, which is vaguely reminiscent of ancient Mayan, but have not yet put together its appearance with the wide patch of sand they trudged past. Except for one or two, and they mask their knowledge behind a mask of bafflement. They know exactly what it says, for in at least one instance, they wrote it there. "Cecelyne's Lady watches..." Darkness and corruption of the City allows the cult to spread like wildfire, for it teaches hope, which is something that most of the people in the City only know of as the hope to move somewhere better. The Cult teaches that 'even a bent and broken sword can be reforged into something bright and shining', and that 'the Lady watches over us because we belong to her'. "Cecelyne's Lady watches..." On the Line, there are a few homes where people have knocked down their common back fences, choosing to instead cover their backyards in silver sand, ostensibly for the kids to play in. On the Belt, one of the more upscale nightclubs hired a contractor to change the landscaping from lush palms to silver sand. In Old Town, near the park, a small garden is slowly swallowed by silver sand. Even as far away as the suburbs and as close as the Docklands, there are patches of silver sand that spring up overnight and as far as the locals are concerned, have always been there. Always the silver sand heralds the same piece of graffiti somewhere nearby. "Cecelyne's Lady watches..."
