==Backstory== Rebecca White was the child of a success-driven middle manager and an estate lawyer, both of whom were determined to see their only child succeed. Her childhood consisted of private schools, planned after school activities and lessons, and other activities designed to enhance her chances of attending a Ivy League School. While she might have preferred a bit more time to just be a kid, Rebecca really didnβt mind much. Most of her friends and classmates had similar schedules and she just considered it all part of what one needs to do to succeed. And really, she did enjoy most of the activities. The childhood schedule and Rebecca's natural intelligence and skill with science was sufficient to ensure her admission to Yale along with a partial scholarship. Eight years later she graduated with a medical degree and having caught the attention of a member of the Progenitors. After graduation she was recommended for and obtained a job working for a pharmaceutical research firm and for the next few years split her time between the lab and field research which involved travel to exotic countries to obtain and study various types of plants and see if they had medicinal or other useful properties. Her awakening occurred on one of these field trips when she witnessed a native in a third world country die because he and his village choose to rely on prayer and chanting to heal his illness rather than allow her to use medicine to do so. Frustrated and angry at the unnecessary death, she spent the night in the temporary lab she had set up nearby, determined that if she couldn't save him, she would at least find a way to heal other people. Forty-eight hours later she emerged with a new medicine and new enlightenment. Once she returned home, her boss and several of her coworkers provided further clarification and training. About a year ago, she requested and was given a temporary assignment with the void engineers. She had hoped that working with them would give her the chance to enhance her knowledge and to obtain new and interesting samples to work with.
