*There are a dozen noble families all of which over the years have been offered the chance to reclaim independence for Tragal and all have declined, preferring the status of protected realm under a regent of Amber.  In time nine noble houses of Amber were created as peerages were awarded.

While Tragal supplies a small number of troops to the military of Amber it has produced a few heroes.  Most Amber trained soldiers of Tragel origin return to take positions with its native nobility.  They generally serve the minimum term a soldier of Amber can serve.  Because of this few finish enough time in the military of Amber to be promoted to the Elites.
