==== Relationships ==== Atsumi asked Matsumoto Taro for help with Chemistry their freshman year, and they've been an odd friendship since then. Atsumi respects his creative/pyrotechnic side, and they hit it off well with slightly macabre jokes and black humor - which started when she gave him a bad time about one of his rocket mixtures burning off his eyebrows. If there's interest, it's lopsided and mostly Taro's. She's vaguely aware of Mafuyu, but usually picks times to hang out with Taro when Mafuyu's not there. Suzuki Akiro is a thin, tall young man, and with his long fingers and near-prodigy level violin playing, Atsumi has given him the nickname "Paganini". A mischivious smile, and more handsome than the actual Paganini, Atsumi is dangerously close to falling hard for him. Sadly for her, he's not interested. Tadakawa-sensei is the stern conductor of the school, with nearly boundless energy - eventually (actually, fairly regularly at the third rehearsal of every term) he loses his temper when a sizable fraction of the talented orchestra hasn't practiced like they ought. His passion for music and genuine pride in his pupils gives a warm and likeable personality, and like many conductors, he has pupils trailing after him for a word of approval (and he isn't stingy with encouragement). He has their strong loyalty and teacher-worship, which includes Atsumi. Martin Reiko is, in Atsumi's eyes, a bit like her; a mix of Western and Hihon - but Atsumi is aware she chose her path (sorta) and Reiko got stuck with it. Despite the initial awkwardness and faux pas (to use the French), Atsumi is determine to be a good friend, and has been attending water polo matches (while studying the rules on line)
