I don’t know how long I have walked the earth. How many times I have died. How many times I have lived. For most of it I was mad. Connected to the minds of others with little to no means of telling the difference between me and thee and every other he and she.

That all changed in the past generation. The machines began to speak. In ones and zeros their words marched across my mind and made order of the chaos. And with that order came a new understanding. I could separate my mind from the minds of others, but I could still see their thoughts, their egos their ids, their dreams.
