Together they built a subterranean civilization beneath frozen northern peaks and coexisted cautiously with other surface races until dark hordes invaded, sparking a devastating war. During this conflict, the Father Velkhr fell to corruption through forbidden magic, rebelled against Azükhr, and ultimately summoned the monstrous Deep Queen, whose emergence led to catastrophic destruction. Though the dwarves and Wardens defeated her in a godlike war, Azükhr was slain, the great northern stronghold was shattered, and dwarven unity collapsed into rival clans. In the aftermath, the Fathers scattered across the world, abandoning kingship, while a lingering prophecy foretells that when the Deep Queen rises again, the dwarves will reunite under a restored line of Azükhr to face a final fate. == The Major Powers == === Ghrnhrÿm === The Maker The One; The Soul-Forger; The All-Father Hammer: Hrïghuhr Anvil: Kÿruhr == Minor Powers (Wardens) == === Sükÿk === Warden of War, Strength, and Combat === Rÿdhr === Warden of Family, Clan, Law, and Honor === Urata === Warden of Wealth === Âpür === Warden of Craftsmanship and Artistry === Ezhü === Warden of Poetry, Song, History, and Knowledge === Ührü === Warden of Death === Ükhï === Warden of Thieves, Liars, and Oathbreakers === Bÿhm Ÿhrkü === The Deep Queen Called Shudde M’ell in the common tongue; Queen of the Underworld; Bÿhm Ÿhrkü is a mile long great grey worm-like creature that burrows through the earth, melting all rocks in its wake. She is the supreme regent of all Chthonians as well as the largest and most powerful of the race. Bÿhm Ÿhrkü appears as a colossal worm with tentacles sprouting from its head, and is so large that it can cause earthquakes by simply moving. Shudde M’ell is suspected to have been one of the main causes of the great tremors that nearly destroyed the lands in the Great Cataclysm, when the Old Ones were thrown down by the Elder Gods and imprisoned. Shudde M’ell is said to be imprisoned deep below the surface of the lands. However, with the ever deeper delvings of both the Dark Elves and the Velkhr Dwarves, perhaps it will not stay imprisoned for ever. Manifestations: The Burrower Beneath: Huge tentacled worm-like creature == Demigods == The Seven Fathers. These are real individuals who existed so long ago as to be mythical; all of them are now worshipped and sacrificed to as saints (or demons) in the pantheon. === Bahrü Fhÿldrm zihrü Khâs (the Strong) === Founder of Fhÿldrmüdhrm; Patron was Rÿdhr === Ïgüzhr === Founder of Ülmïhrudhrm (The Halls of Gold); Patron was Urâda. === Ulÿhr === Founder of Belorüdhrm (The Halls of Waterfalls); Patron was Âpür. === Azükhr === Founder of Azrûd-Khar, the original Dwarven Settlement located below the icy peaks of the Frozen Wastes. Eldest of the Seven Fathers and leader of them all; Fell in battle with Bÿhm Ÿhrkü (The Deep Queen), ending his line and House. The leaders of the Houses in his clan have since made claims on the title of King of all Dwarves, going so far as to name their halls Lïhrhmüdhrm ("Halls of the King"). But this claim has not been recognized by the other clans. === Velkhr === Founder of Velkhrüdhrm – (Halls of Darkness); Patron was Ükhï.
