The Room Under the Stairs is technically a Gossamer world, though it appears to be nothing more than a penthouse suite in a fancy hotel, similar to [https://www.fairmont-san-francisco.com/accommodations/penthouse-suite/ others of its ilk]. Roughly 6000 square feet in size, it contains 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a living room with fireplace, formal dining, kitchen, library, billiards room, and an outdoor terrace. There is a night sky with stars, and an endless featureless landscape hundreds of feet below. The only changes that occur between visits are cleaning and restocking - the beds are always made and the refrigerator and pantry are filled with food and drink. Without a close look at the outside surroundings, it is indistinguishable from a modern-day penthouse suite, even to the point of having internet access and television programming from Gossamer Earth.
