The Protectors of the Avatar are a group of about 10-25 Couatl. The most powerful having HD up to 18 and above with the less powerful more like the one presented in the Monster Manual. The Couatl seek unique and powerful individuals with unusual divine connections and seek to try and help them become champions of good. Human politics and affairs don't matter to them. Only the evils of Khyber concern them.

'''The Chamber:''' The dragons, despite their help in the fiend wars, are fools. They sit within their caves, on top of their hordes, and read the stars every day but whenever a matter concerning our father's soul is brought up they refuse to believe that any mortal man can take his place. Siberys is dead. We mourn his death more than any other. But we must move on if a new age of light is to be brought to us.
