The Hopewell Foundation is looking for a highly creative and open-minded candidate with strong interpersonal and leadership skills and a commitment to public welfare to serve as its Director of Development. The Director will oversee a staff of no fewer than two in grant writing, growth of the development fund and development events around the globe and will work closely with the Director of Finance and the Executive Director to see to the financial needs of the Foundation. The position requires a Masters Degree in public policy, social science or business and at least five years of professional experience and two years of management experience, preferably in a community-focused public purpose enterprise. Director of Development
The Director of Development is the member of the Foundation's Operations staff responsible for fundraising activities. This includes grants (research and grant writing), the annual fund (telephone solicitations), targetted giving (contact with specific wealthy individuals) and development events (banquets &c.). The Director manages a staff of two and must also work closely with the Director of Finance and Executive Director to make sure that the Foundation's financial needs are being met and with the Director of Programs to make sure that applied-for grants fit the needs of individual programs.
