Norbaz the Cooky Halfgiant Rouge6/Assassin10/PsychicWarrior2

Norbaz is the Cooky of the Forgotten Freedom, often found in the mess hall and the Galley. He has perfected and improved upon a chilli recipe that creates a super corrosive and near sentient state.

By trade, the Halfgiant Cook is a professional hitman, who originally met and got drafted by Jarlot when trying to knock off King Boranal of Breland...when Jarlot stormed the place and threw a kegger.

Norbaz is emfatuated with the ship's Necromancer, Andrea, and has a longstanding mutual defence plan going with Satnak in exchange for Chilli.

Some Random Facts

  • Born in Xendrik to a hill giant mother and a captured but escaped archeologist from Morgrave University researching the ancient ruins there. Norbaz's mother tracked the father down after his birth to shuck off the "Ugly little runt" (by Hillgiant Standards) to his care.
  • Raised in Sharn by his father, Cleminus Alanot, a Morgrave Scholar for the first five years of his life.
  • Witnessed his father's death at the hands of a servant of the Drow Scorpion god, for suposive crimes of removing a sacred artifact (that was never their's to begin with) from territory they occupied.
  • Left to the streets of Sharn, Norbaz grew up in the lower cogs, learning theivery to stay alive. Eventually saved up enough to obtain an apprenticeship under the chef of a down and out restaurant somewhere in the lower district.
  • Surpassed his teacher, learned from others.
  • Discovered the identity of the drow that killed his father, as a frequent diner at a restaurant for adventurers. Set out to apply for a position there, did so, and was able to watch him die less than an hour after eating a "delicately prepared" dish.
  • Greatly impressed a member of an assassins guild while doing so, and subsequently was offered an apprenticeship. Began the work of an assassin and the work of a traveling cook scholar as he traveled the five nations in secret during the tail end of the war.
  • Learned the cuisine of Breland, Thrane, Aundair, Karrnath, Talenta, and Cyre.
  • Eventually hired for an attempt against King Boranal, however encountered Captain Jarlot who had shown up to throw a "*****ing Kegger" and wound up joining in on the fun. Instead of killing Boranal, wound up a crewman on the Forgotten Freedom after loosing a drinking game to Captain Jarlot...the game was aptly titled "Drink the Beer".
  • Is a master chef, but prefers to cook with alchemical augmentations and testing his new poisons or "creations". In doing so, perfected the 12 alarm chili for which he has gained notoriety.
  • Has a longstanding appreciation for "bookish" women, having been shown great kindness in his youth by a Morgrave Librarian before his father's murder. Has had a longstanding crush on Andrea but has never been able to act on it or approach it due to his own reservations.
  • Enjoys just relaxing and the company of the other crewmembers, sometimes listening to problems, other times just participating in the unusual goings on.
  • Ever since his encounter with Aerith, has had doubts about one half of his chosen profession.
