Step One :: Attributes

Shadowwalkers have three attributes as their first set of Prime Traits: Blood, Age, and Willpower.

Potency

Potency indicates the power of your blood or how freshly fed you are and is most often added to pools focused on reflexes and senses as well as rolls for recovering from damage that you can't soak.

Age

Age represents your experience and how well adapted you are to unlife and is most often added to pools focused on superntural speed, strength and durability as well as setting your character's baseline for those traits.

Willpower

Willpower measures the tenacity of the mind and is most often added to pools focused on psychic exertion, sorcery, and the chains of earth.

Attributes are each set at d8 You are welcome to leave them all at d8 but you also have the option to step one attribute up to d10 if you also step one attribute down to d6

Step Two :: Distinctions

Shadowwalkers each have three distinctions as their second set of Prime Traits: Bloodline, Shadow, Quirk.

Bloodline

Bloodline describes your character's High Concept as it were and should include their vampric lineage as well as the driving principle that the character values most.

There are five known vampric lineages.

The Ancient: The Ancient claim to be the first bloodline, though this claim is disputed - somewhat ineffectively - by the Lost. The Ancient originate from Africa and tend toward an almost koan-like approach to tribal wisdom, emulating the values of Tickster gods throughout the world. The Ancient are big on teaching lessons to those around them in need of such service.
The Court of the Old World: This is the largest of the vampire lineages occupying most of Europe and Asia. The Court of the Old World are traditionalists, hidebound, and very strict in their views of the world. Vamps of the Old World are very much the sort to exert control over the behavior of others until that behavior conforms to what they believe is right and proper.
The Jade Court:, The most secretive of the bloodlines, the Jade Court makes their home throughout Southest Asia (including the Indian subcontinent), Japan, and the Pacific Islands. Jade vampires tend to keep to themselves and to the shadows, but they are always watching, always learning, always keeping an unseen thumb on the scales.
The Aurora: Broadly considered the newest and youngest bloodline, there is also some merit to the idea that they are the most versatile and adaptive lineage. The Aurora control the entirety of the Americas from Cape Horn to the landless ice north of Canada. Vampires of the Aurora make no bones about interfering in the business of other lineages and indeed the world at large.
The Lost Court: Originally out of Australia and New Zealand, and fewer than thirty in number still in existence it is rumored none of them can return to the land of their origin. Those of the Lost Court who would set foot in Australia or the large amd small islands to its south never leave those lands. Lost vamps tend to hide in the open, alone or in pairs or trios wherever they might be found in the world, tending to keep out of the afairs of others while all the while being extremely aware of the world and society around them.

Bloodline distinctions should include not only the lineage but also a significant overarching detail that broadly defines the character relating to their chosen role among their lineage. Warrior of the Old World or Sage of the Ancient, or Eye of the Jade Court or Wanderer of the Lost are all possible bloodline distinctions.

Generation

Generation gives us a glimpse of the shadowwalker's sire. More than a particular mechanical benefit (that comes from the attribute Age) this distinction gives a framework for the character of the shadowwalker that turned them.

A generational distinction might look like Childe of Vaughn the Black Bear or Scion of Eva, Mistress of Cairo or Jack the Knife's Misguided Attempt at Redemption or Orphan of the Unknown Bastard.

Character

Character is a very personal distinction. Where Bloodline shows a shadowwalker's relationship to their people and Generation gives us an idea of the force that shaped the shadowwalker's formative days, Charcter shines a light on what is important to the shadowwalker themselves- what matters to them on an individual level. This distinction is likely to be the most unique and varied distinction from one shadowwalker to another.

Possibilities might include

Distinctions are each set at d8 and this value may not be adjusted. Each of your three distinctions starts with the Hinder SFX active.

Check002.png Hinder: Sometimes your distinction works against you. Gain 1 plot point when you roll a D4a.png instead of a D8a.png when using your distinction in a pool.
