"Kithle" was a strange lad growing up, always mimicking people. Got him in trouble when he annoyed a particularly nasty cultist who in response offered him to the illithid. When the transformation began, Kithle mimicked the thoughts of the tadpole so well it got confused and stopped halfway. As the minds merged, the urge to mimic was twisted into something strange.
