"It is very annoying how that board squeaks."
LE dedicated wight Expert (carpenter) 12
One day a nice artificer decided to create a helper for his little daughter to create those magic items she wanted so much. Since this was a little girl he was making it for, he formed the wight into the shape of a teddy bear.
Naturally the homunculus had to take revenge on the whole family.
Jarlot employs the wight as a carpenter way back when because the ship can't always rely on finding a port in time to prevent already-paid redshirts from breaking through the decks. The wight works cheap since he doesn't drink (or eat) or sleep. His form is still that of a cuddly bear, though, so many a crew member can't help themselves. But they soon learn the error of their ways when a certain floorboard in their room creaks or the latrine door gets stuck.
