'''Personality''': Marlene is a walking plot-device in terms of weird reactions. People will pretty much feel compelled to emote towards her in ways that are decidedly uncomfortable in retrospect. Bluntly, there's something disarmingly charming about Marlene that makes people want to express their hidden feelings publicly before her.  Which is all the more funny given her emotional maturity and the fact that she reacts usually by razor-sharp logic.

Marlene herself is not exactly emotionally mature enough to do much emoting.  She's fairly a blank slate in terms of emotional responses but seems driven by a bizarre compassion she doesn't understand to want to help those around her.  This is partially by Merrix's design.  Unfortunately, she also has an evil side that's brought out by Merrix's well chosen command words.

'''Appearance''':  The cloning process of Merrix D'Cannith has managed to successfully replicate the appearance of Cassius' ex-wife, Alice, almost completely.  She is significantly more demure and shy than the real Alice ever was.  She also has a tendency to not dress in pink, unlike her progenitor.  More obviously, Alice has completely become a Rabbit Shifter and her elf heritage makes her almost irresistibly cute.

'''Background''':  Marlene is the product of Merrix D'Cannith's engineering as he bound the soul of a Quori into an artificial Homonculus.  Unfortunately, this was in fact half the portion of Aura's Quori soul and the two women cannot remain in each other's presence very long.  Marlene's human DNA comes from the portions of Alice's own genes that were harvested from samples of Aurra.  This rather demented little experiment is something that Merrix III intends to take full advantage of in turning her against Cassius.
