: We'll remove skill ranks. You simply get a +1/2 level bonus to skill checks, and another +5 to trained skills, as 4E. --[[User:4SRD|4SRD]] 01:37, 17 April 2012 (PDT) | |||

There are many Powers in the Fourth Edition which almost duplicate Powers from other classes. Could we take a page from previous editions and just give the same Powers to several classes, just as the same Spells were often given to clerics, wizards, druids and rangers? | There are many Powers in the Fourth Edition which almost duplicate Powers from other classes. :Yes. 4E has created a lot of system bloat by limiting each power to one class only. I agree with your suggestion. Powers should have an entry with the classes that can take the power. Typical candidates for power sharing are Fighter, Ranger and Warlord; Barbarian and Warden; Wizard, Sorcerer and Swordmage, etc. --[[User:4SRD|4SRD]] 01:37, 17 April 2012 (PDT) |

Do we need to use ranks?[edit]
Could we sneak in trained, somehow? Maybe a class would get 5+1/2 level ranks in a 'specialty' skill, and 1/2 level ranks in all others?
- We'll remove skill ranks. You simply get a +1/2 level bonus to skill checks, and another +5 to trained skills, as 4E. --4SRD 01:37, 17 April 2012 (PDT)
Could we use similar powers for similar classes?[edit]
There are many Powers in the Fourth Edition which almost duplicate Powers from other classes. Could we take a page from previous editions and just give the same Powers to several classes, just as the same Spells were often given to clerics, wizards, druids and rangers?
- Yes. 4E has created a lot of system bloat by limiting each power to one class only. I agree with your suggestion. Powers should have an entry with the classes that can take the power.
