Locations in Tsuma
The House of the Laughing Carp
Not the only Inn and Tea House in Tsuma, it is the most prestigious. It is a likely residence of parents and guardians during the Championship, and a common meeting place for the many Samurai here to see the event.
Poisoned Water Sake House
The Poisoned Water wears its reputation as a disreputable den as a Scorpion wears a mask. It's black-bottle sake is well-regarded, in the region, although not made in quantities sufficient for export. Still, if one is looking for the coarser sort of Samurai during the week, the Poisoned Water is a good place to start.
Medinaat al-Salaam
Throughout the streets of Tsuma the markets of are open all week, stalls lining most avenues. But the oddest thing about this Unicorn clan-operated establishment is that they have housed a single market inside a single building. Gone are the small stands, stalls, and carts of a proper market. The hawking and competition of the lower classes, scratching for every zeni? Gone. Medinaat al-Salaam has calm factors willing to display goods of all kinds to their honoured guests. Truly alien.
The Docks
Barges and river boats carry fresh fish up from the coast every day. But Tsuma's dockyard is small, compared to the sea-side ports. Now it is well decorated, with the route of the Emperor's planned progress marked out. Bunting and flowers will be hung on the morning of the Emperor's arrival, to hang them early is to risk having them spoiled by cold Spring rain.
The Temple of the Seven Fortunes
The pagoda is the tallest structure in Tsuma. The grounds are appropriately austere. There is an ancient camphor tree in the courtyard whose branches lean close to the ground. For a small donation a prayer can be tied to one of the branches, the lower reaches of the tree flutter with thousands of papers, many faded and illegible now.
