Introduction
I am Bill, AKA king_kaboom. A long time resident of Reno, Nevada, currently living in Klamath Falls, Oregon and obsessive game enthusiast. I've been playing role-playing games since around 1992 and running games for most of that period. Additionally I have undergraduate degrees in art history and sociology, and I finished my master's degree in counseling and education psychology in 2008. All together I'm an over-educated kid who never intends to grow up. I was a former moderator for the Reno Roleplayers Yahoo Group as well.
I will be using this space to help coordinate some of my game efforts. You may also be interested in my contributions to the Exalted Wiki.
Collaborators
Mary played with me for more than two years. We began with Vampire the Requiem and covered a great deal of territory over that time. Her favorite game is Exalted and she has many contributions on the Exalted Wiki.
Steve and I played quite a few games including my Age of Apocalypse, Hyperstructure Aurora, and several Exalted series.
Games
Former
Age of Apocalypse | Shinobi |
Awaken to the Forsaken World | The Last Best Hope |
Hyperstructure Aurora |
Current
I am currently without a game or a group to play with. Klamath Falls does have players, but they are fewer and more insular than is accommodating. Additionally, I am very picky about who I play with and how I play. I run games with a focus on the players and I prefer to play in games run in a similar style. I have absolutely no tolerance for railroading, pixel-bitching, frustrated writers forcing their stories down my throat, or referees that either cannot or will not clearly define what their game is to be about. Essentially I want to know what your game will focus on and how it will be fun before I even start writing up a character, or I won't play. I want to be able to take a left turn that scraps a week's worth of your work without you batting an eye, or I won't play. I want to pursue my character's agenda over any plot hook you might be dangling in front of the group, or I won't play. These are tough criteria and I know it, but to quote the RPG.net mantra, "no role-playing is better than bad role-playing".
If you are interested in having me run a game for your group, I would be happy to reprise any of the games I have already run, one of the game ideas I have recorded below, or to come up with something custom tailored for your group's interests. Feel free to contact me if you would enjoy discussing games or playing some time.

Role-Playing Games as Soap Opera was an article I wrote for the World of Darkness Wiki in November of 2007. It showed up here in May of '08 without my permission, but I'm flattered that somebody liked my work.
