Backstory
Marko was the youngest son of noone of consequence (let's call them Sacha and Irina, eh). His older brother Fedor was the big hope of the family - intelligent, handsome and already a successful accountant for Mayor Stavik at age 18. Then, one evening, he didn't come home. Stavik claimed ignorance, of course, but even then, everyone assumed he'd killed the boy for some reason.
Marko, the stronger and stupider brother, could never really fill in for his brother. Eventually, he got a cushy job in the town watch. He didn't think much about who he arrested. Most of them were poor wretches whose only crime was starvation. But recently, Mayor Stavik fired the whole Watch and replaced them with undead. Now, Marko has begun to think. Maybe Stavik's rule isn't the best. If only someone would rise up to oppose him. Maybe that wizard Vadim knows something.
Plot hook 1:
Where's Fedor? Did he find out some terrible secret and foolishly confronted Stavik? Did he find something so terrible that he decided to flee the town without telling anyone? Or did Stavik's undead masters take an interest in the young genius and turn him into something terrible?
Plot hook 2:
Marko still wants to prove himself to his parents and will jump at any opportunity to do so.
Plot hook sorta 3:
Marko accompanied Vadim while exploring a ruin, and there they they found a book with forbidden lore. Marko was never much for books, but he's still an accomplice if the Undead Masters find out about the unreported book.
