In what was once the Realm Year 770, and later called Year 3 of the Mandate Renewed, the barbarian hordes of Ma-Ha-Suchi scattered the Circle of Horses. After this, three years of darkness reigned. This is the story of those years.
Year One - Scattered Mares
- Seeking the Stallion-Lord's Shelter: Hiparkes does not always have room in his stables for guests.
- Performance Evaluation: The Solars and their allies aren't the only ones unsatisfied with the results of the Marukan War.
- Casualty Reports: Cathak Nekuto watches as a bad situation becomes worse.
- Leopard Chao Changes His Spots: The mercenary realizes that some ideas are worth risking your life for.
- A Stone Resists the Flood: Once again, Choshu Ishi does the best he can.
- Lambs to the Slaughter: The Prince Resplendent rides free in the Marukan once more.
- Intelligence Debriefing: The planners of Lookshy despair over the problems that come from war.
- The Grief of the Forsaken: Times are hard for the Exalts of the Marukan, but things are worse for the mortal they've left behind.
Year Two - Hobbled Foals
- Building the Barrows: Left alone in the Eye of Hiparkes, the Lawgiver's servants begin to mourn.
