Gold and silver are as rare and precious in the Round World as in our own. Most ‘gold pieces’ (gps) are actually small disks of ‘green gold’ ( weak gold-copper alloy). Larger, pure gold ‘King’s Mint’ coins are worth between 10-100gps each, depending on the year of their issue. Only merchants (and thieves) seem to have ready knowledge of these coin’s value.

The most valuable coins known are Turban ‘desert moons’, heavy gold-platinum disks worth several hundred gps apiece.
