Operation Defiant Shroud​

Date: Saturday, January 11th, 2020
Situation: Alien Abduction
Location: Oakbridge, Oregon

The aliens initiated an abduction in Oakbridge via the usual method. Bombarding the town with abduction pods, and then dropping drop pods with Sectoids inside to round up survivors and prepare the victims for transport.

The primary team and the Closers were deployed from Area 51 via Skyranger, and interrupted the abduction during the second phase. Approaching from the west, the team split up and encountered several squads of sectoids. A brief firefight ensued, in which one member of the Closers was wounded. Examination at the base later on suggests that the injuries are caused by some form of focused plasma.

The team rescued locals, who indicated that remaining abductees were being held in a local motel, including one of the locals daughters. Advancing cautiously, the two teams surrounded the motel; discovering that the apparant leader of the sectoids was engaging the daughter with some form of energy (later identified as Diana Knight, NSA Analyst). Post mission debriefing suggests that this was some form of telepathic phenemenon being used to read her mind.

The team conducted a dynamic entry, quickly neutralizing the aliens on the ground floor, while the Closers entered the second floor. The motel suffered structural damage during the resultant firefight, but all aliens were terminated and all the abductees rescued. Rescued abductees were later debriefed before being remanded to local medical teams. Diana Knight was rescued and is being examined at Area 51, to see what affects the alien's psionic ability had on her.

Lieutenant Frederberg led her team up from the east side of the town, engaging a small squad of sectoids with support from the US Air Force, and ensured the perimeter was secure.

Following the mission, Shield teams arrived from Area 51 and secure the site while clean up crews recovered any extant alien artifacts.

Operation Red Serpent​​

Date: Saturday, January 20th, 2020
Situation: UFO Crash Site
Location: Upper New York State
The first UFO detected over North America was detected heading towards the east coast. Hawk Squadron, led by Lieutenant Colonel Andrew 'Crown' Harris, was scrambled to intercept. They managed to corner the UFO and down it, though suffering two casualties in the process.

Extreme Maintenance Division was deployed to the crash site to secure it. Upon landing, they stealthly observed several alien patrols, and engaged them after securing an advantageous position. During the resultant firefight, the aliens revealed several new high powered weapons, which the team dispatched with effectiveness before taking any casualties.

With the exterior of the UFO located, the team attempted a breach into the interior of the crash site, engaging several more crew members, including an energy based alien command has classified as an Outsider. After neutralizing the crew, it was discovered that the aliens had rigged the engines to detonate. Fortunately, the process was not an irreversible one.

During the attack, the operatives managed to recover several live aliens.

Operation Enduring Law

Date: Thursday, January 30th, 2020
Situation: EXALT Operation
Location: Portland

X-INT had become aware that Jana Guiteriez, reporter and the most famous alien abductee in recent history, had surfaced in Portland, trying to stay undercover. Agent Virginia Bryan took Extreme Maintenance Division with her to retrieve the abductee for debriefing.

During the investigation, it quickly became apparant that another faction was attempting to grab her. Fake FBI agents had the apartment where she was staying under surveillance. After evading them, her friend was able to provide a computer that directed the team to where Jana was attempting to acquire false documents to flee the city.

Sleeper agents in the guise of police officers attempted to kill her, but the team was able to intervene and save her life. Enroute to pick up, they were ambushed by a group of sleeper agents that we know have identified as EXALT operatives. Bringing in overwhelming force, the team managed to take cover and fight off the assault, until the Skyranger arrived to evac them.

Operation Long Day

Date: Tuesday, February 11th, 2020
Situation: Terror Mission
Location: Angeles
A large UFO attacked Los Angeles in a brazen shift of tactics. They deployed and attacked civilians on masse, forcing a massive response from four X-COM basess and the US military. Initial casualties were high

The aliens used a massive plasma based anti-air weapon on the US Bank Tower. We were unable to penetrate its sphere of influence with any airborne weapon, forcing us to proceed in on foot. A number of mission to support local forces and prepare for the assault were conducted. X-COM teams then infiltrated the city center through storm drain access, and assaulted the US Bank Tower. A newly observed Sectoid Leader was leading the alien forces from there and was taken alive.

The alien weapon was destroyed by C4 charges set by Extreme Maintenance Division, followed by a close range gunfight to eliminate the remainder of the aliens in the tower. After which, American and X-COM air assets could assist in the liberation of the city and destruction of all remaining alien forces.
