Captain Jestic Dunwich

"Look, just put them in the cells and I'll figure out what to do with them later; currently half the starboard air scrubbers are broken, the emergency supply vaults are sealed shut and there's another group of mutineers wandering the halls of the macrocannon battery." - Newly-appointed Captain Jestic Dunwich, fifth day of his reign.
"... The Omnissiah must delight in my suffering." - Enginseer Gene Markete Sylas, upon receiving the news of Jestic's promotion.
Background
To all appearances, Jestic is a rather absent-minded member of the Dunwich dynasty. While technically in the line of succession to the Warrant of Trade, being of the main branch of the family, he was so far down the list that nobody (including himself) expected him to have most anything more important than a position as a planetary agent or the curator of the house's private library. Perhaps, if his fortune favored it, a job as one of the house's lord factors after a lifetime as an agent for the same.
And his childhood reflected it. His time was spent with half-hearted tutors and he rarely saw his parents, whom were somewhat more important to the family. But, in a way, such a life offers far more freedom than a more prestigous position; with little expected of him beyond not bringing shame upon House Dunwich, he was free to turn his energies elsewhere.
His teachers noted that he wasn't a fool or simple-minded, but most certainly lazy and disinclined to pay more than minimal attention to lessons. He was, however, quite gifted at leading groups of his fellow youngsters and the younger servants in a wide variety of games and entertainments, with an occasional flash luck leading to gain for the House - although no doubt by accident.
It was perhaps because of this potential that he was assigned to the officer corp for the new vessel upon which the House set their fortune. As an aide to one of the senior officers, he could be relied upon to be loyal and at least mildly competent.
Like most of the newly-awakened, his memories of anything beyond a few days after the ceremonial launch were vague and fragmentary, but records that still remainedsuggested he had gotten into a certain amount of mischief (resulting in quite a few reprimands and scoldings).
Needless to say, being identified upon awakening as the Heir Primus was quite the shock to him. After retreating to the captain's quarters for a full day to drinkhimself sober (... it made sense at the time), he emerged to make a worthy attempt at the job.
And has so far succeeded reasonably well. His vague amiability, inflappable manner and mild suggestions quickly turned chaos and panic into order and discipline, and ahandful of moments of ruthless opportunism cemented his grasp upon power.
But now comes the real test - can he take a family all but vanished from even the Administratum's records and resurrect it, or even forge it into a power known across the sector? Only the Emperor knows, and only time will show what His vision has already seen.
