With a hiss from the filtration baffles on his armor's helmet, Leaf Shakes the Wind appeared in the middle of the camp as if from nowhere. "The monastary's closed for the night."
Storm of Amber clutched his chest, failing completely to hide his surprise. Nearby, the sash of the Third-Arm Glaive writhed angrily. "You can try again in the morning," the Zenith said as he regained his composure.
Leaf sat down on a log and began the process of removing his armor for the night. Despite the suit's bulk, the delicate lightness of the attuned jade and the skill with which it had been constructed made it quick. Nevertheless, the Night respected his tools and made sure that each piece was carefully polished and stowed away. "You don't mind the wait?"
Storm of Amber shook his head. "Not at all. The Wood Aspect Dude is still our best hope for curing the city's constructs of their madness. Besides, the trip is giving me time to do some reading." The Zenith held an ancient scroll up to the light of a lantern he'd hung from a tree.
